More scaremongering propaganda, i see...

@HootyTheNightOwl Yep. Four years on in this debacle and STILL nothing concrete decided.

@HootyTheNightOwl The thing that bothers me about the hard Brexiteers is that any criticism or any evidence is just dismissed as 'project fear'.

If there was a tsunami weather warning from an expert, it would just be remainers trying to subvert the will of the people

@Burnley123 Still a lot of posturing by both sides. And we all have to remember that OUR chump with a dodgy haircut wasn't elected ! So expect more internal fighting and from what Johnson has revealed about his thinking of circumventing Parliament.....he may not be there too long anyway !
@Burnley123 Face facts here... we don't know the effect that Brexit (whether negotiated or not) will have on the UK because it [big]hasn't happened[/big].

We can forecast as much as we like, but, ultimately, we will never cover every eventuality and all the "experts" are never going to agree on an exact formula.

At this stage, there's still a chance that either the EU could kick us out with no deal or we may ultimately end up revoking Article 50 because the chumps can't decide what the Hell they want.

@Burnley123 Not to worry, John Bolton said that we you folks should press with the no-deal deal, and then you and us will cut our own great deal.

We will open up all our markets to your car, aeronautics, technology, agricultural, etc. products, and you will do the same for us.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@Northwest Yeah problem may be a question of SCALE on that one !
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Northwest I think you are trying your hand at some British sarcasm there. 👍️

Tariffs between our countries are low to non existing and a 'trade deal' would involve opening up our health and education systems to American vulture capitalists.

@HootyTheNightOwl This just proves my point. You are in effect arguing that no predictions matter.

Smoking might be good for you because you haven't died of cancer yet.

Why not show my an economic prediction that will do well our of Brexit. I did research into this (unlike most Brexiteers) and came up with nothing.

Brexit is supposed to make us better. You think that so please show me your evidence.

@Burnley123 Well, bloody hell! Did anyone inform Johnson?
@Burnley123 Where did i imply that we will do well out of Brexit??? As far as i'm aware, the only thing that i've stated thus far is that the predictions are a waste of time and energy even reading - and why did i state that fact???

Because we don't - and never will - have the full facts. Hence, we can only guess at the bits that we currently have.

For months, they've been hyping up that we'll have a shortage of medicines and food - so people started to stockpile... with the economy the way that it is right now, is this waste of money a sound thing to be doing???

The money to pay for that has most likely come from the disabled and unemployed who are being pushed further and further into poverty by Universal Credit and the sanctions imposed on them. People are dying, some from suicide, others more slowly and painfully from conditions like anaemia because they can't afford to eat a balanced diet.

The EU is likely the only ones who can challenge that - but Brexit will put a spanner in the works there.

But, yes, you keep on crying about the fact that Brexit is happening so you don't see exactly what the benefit reforms are doing to the most needy in our society.

@HootyTheNightOwl Sigh. I've actually campaigned against austerity and I'm a member of the only major political party to have an anti austerity platform.

The cuts you mention are part of deliberate policy by a succession of Conservative governments and its not down to the EU. If we have a no deal Brexit then it's necessary to prepare but no preparation will be good enough if it actually happens, according to predictions. Your entire life is governed by predictions you make based on the best information available. When faced with a complex problem (moving house, divorce or medical issue) then you or I would seek expert help. For some reason people don't apply this to matters of politics

If no deal Brexit does happen under a tory government, then the ex will nomic crisis will be used as an excuse for mega austerity.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Northwest Johnson is a wanker who talks a load of bollocks.
Northwest · M
@Burnley123 I miss when world leaders used to, at least, pretend to make sense.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Northwest There was never a golden age but I agree. Anti intellectualism is part of the problem.
@Burnley123 No, the cuts aren't down to the EU... but some feel that the EU laws are the best chance they have of fighting the cuts - without the EU, they have no access to those laws or the European Court of Human rights... see the issue there???

Oh, we all know that no deal = mega austerity - hence why so many jumped ship when they had the chance. The problem with the mega austerity is that there won't be any more sick and disabled to target (been there, done that)... so it'll be those that are currently just about managing who will be targeted next to get the amount paid out in working tax credits down.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@HootyTheNightOwl I think we agree on that.
