Are u in favor of kids having bulletproof backpacks ?

Have you heard about these. Its so sad that we have come to this place here in America.
What do you think. They are expensive, but they are worth it.

A friend of mine has a messenger bag designed to stop a .45 but she is a comic book artist so her laptop is literally her livelihood. Terrifying that this is being considered necessary for regular school kids. But then it seems very American to try and paper over the symptoms rather then try and solve the actual cause of the problem.
