Are u in favor of kids having bulletproof backpacks ?

Have you heard about these. Its so sad that we have come to this place here in America.
What do you think. They are expensive, but they are worth it.

there are usually pretty strong laws about the restriction of bullet resistant vests; I'd expect these to be covered by the same. and even more schools have rules saying kids can't have backpacks that can conceal anything (e.g. they have to be made of clear plastic). I'm not sure this fits in anyway.
short answer is I think it's a kinda dumb product meant more to sell by fear.

@stound Really? Everyone can fire as many bullets as they wish, but there are heavy restrictions on protecting yourself from being harmed by them? It was bad enough when I thought both were freely available, but this is ludicrous.
@SW-User you're kinda being a little over the top with the description, but yeah. firearms [at least in the US] are a right - vests are not. some local jurisdictions have put in many restrictions with the notion that if you're not police/military, you shouldn't need it and you're probably planning to do things you shouldn't be doing.
@SW-User The clear backpack thing is real for sure, although, I'm not sure it would pass a 2nd Amendment challenge with the kind of Courts we'll have in a few more years.

@stound Its a backpack. You cant wear them in stores and certain government buildings and other high security facilities. Its not a big deal. 🙂

@Zonuss So the solution to gun violence is bullet proof items and a backpack ban in certain areas? I don't think I'll ever understand the American logic.

@SW-User Its for when kids are in school. In the US you cannot wear a backpack in the places I named anyway because of store policies concerning shoplifting. 🙄
SW-User
@Zonuss Because people choose backpacks for shoplifting and not spreading the weight equally across their entire back? And because no other bags can be used for shoplifting? 🤦‍♂️

@SW-User All bags go to the counter when you walk in the door.
SW-User
@Zonuss So backpacks are allowed, but you have to hand them in before entering just like any other bag? That makes more sense then.
