What are your thoughts on the concept behind slogans like “Thin Blue Line” and “Back the Blue”

Pretty much the same way I see "Support the troops." Hollow words meant to put people in a certain camp that rarely results in any action. It's just chest-thumping stuff that doesn't require anything more than slapping a bumper sticker on a car.

Dangerous acceptance. When it comes to those in authority, especially of the personal nature, better to be suspicious and err on the side of zealous scrutiny.
