I think the thing that is most disappointing is the binary thinking that has permeated this country. No topic discussion anymore. There's one viewpoint on every topic that is "accepted", and if you don't accept it THAT MAKES YOU BAD. AND YOU SHOULD PROBABLY BE KILLED, MAIMED, FORCED FROM YOUR JOB..... really?

When did America get borderline personality disorder?

@uncalled4 The 1980's under saint Ronnie Raygun.

@uncalled4 It definitely seems to have become more of an "us and them"-country. I don't know if it has always been like this politically, but nowdays the people are more focused on ridiculing their political opponents rather than arguing against them with sound arguments.

@Lucia This, pretty much.

@NativeOregonian I feel you, but not on every single topic. And the pitchfork brigade...it's nuts. My perspective might be different because I work in the media.

@uncalled4 When the moral majority, which formed in the mid to late 70's, who got Reagan elected, as well as other uber religious office holders in the late 70's to early 90's, started gaining political power, that is when everything started snowballing downhill. We are now seeing the results of over 40 years of religious meddling in our politics.
