it's not, but fact is most people who don't want anyone coming here from other countries (specifically non whites) tend to be racist

@DunDunDun we don't want them coming illegaly. Apply for Visa and wait your turn. Meanwhile learn English and save some money so your not just another drain on society

@Mountainlady16 I understand that that's how you feel, but that's not the case for everyone so i'm speaking in general

@DunDunDun I do feel every illegal immigrant should be rounded up and sent back
@Mountainlady16 Even if they’re working and paying taxes?
Mountainlady16 · 26-30, F
@LeopoldBloom yes cause they broke the immigration laws by coming here. Plus most work under the table
@Mountainlady16 How do you propose we get rid of them? Deport anyone who is brown and speaks Spanish with no trial?

My solution is upward accountability. If illegal workers are found on a construction site, lock up the prime contractor and the developer. If the CEO of Halliburton or the Trump Organization goes to prison because a fourth-tier subcontractor on one of their projects hired illegal workers, I can guarantee that the problem will end.

Another solution would be a national ID card, but I can just imagine the screaming from the fundamentalists who would interpret that as the coming of the Antichrist.

The reason nothing has been done is because these people provide a net gain to the country. So it doesn't matter if they're here illegally. Conservatives love to complain about this, but other than harassment and intimidation, they either don't have any solutions or don't want to implement the solutions that would actually work.
