7.62x39 vs 5.56 ?

Looking very hard at an AR-47, anyone here have experience with these calibers?

@cd4259 That's what I've been hearing. The bullet shape is such that tissue damage is greater than a 5.56 but at a loss of range and accuracy.

Do not believe that. The British and Australian army used the 7.62 during the Vietnam War.

@Sarin well it is a semi automatic rifle of military design and illegal to own here in Australia. Not sure about other countries though.

@cd4259 It's still legal in the U.S. to own a military designed semiautomatic rifle. I fully support any efforts to make them illegal in America but until that happens I'm going to have mine ready to rock.
