What is something you wish it was legal?

@SW-User Why encourage unhealthy habits more than we already do?

We already have overtime to compensate. You get more money and it hits the employer for poor management.

@QuixoticSoul I guess we all need to contribute to our society but I would see it as encouraging hard work and rewarding those who spend a few extra hours away from their families doing overtime. The extra money would still generate taxes indirectly but help the economy too. But I’m not an economist which is probably evident lol

@SW-User persistent overtime creates burnout, and people spending time away from families has negative social effects - children need their parents. I agree that people should be compensated, but it’s not really a good thing overall.

Economically, we’d rather the employer hire more people than overload their employees, too.

Let’s compromise - mandate double pay for overtime, not time and a half - this will help make up for the taxes.

Also, most people are on salary and their overtime isn’t compensated at all. And that fucking sucks.
