This is how the 2020 election will go:

The Dems will win the popular vote by six million. Trump will win the electoral college because Putin will alter the vote in key districts. Incontrovertible proof of such will eventually come out (if there are any non-loyalists left in the FBI) but all Republicans will declare such proof a socialist hoax.

The systematic dismantling of American democracy will continue as gerrymandering and voter suppression make it impossible for Dems to win anywhere but the bluest of states.

Here is how the 2016 vote went
Today, a grand jury in the District of Columbia returned an indictment presented by the Special Counsel’s Office. The indictment charges twelve Russian military officers by name for conspiring to interfere with the 2016 presidential election.

After listing all the charges of the indictment he says this:

THERE IS NO ALLEGATION IN THIS INDICTMENT THAT ANY AMERICAN CITIZEN COMMITTED A CRIME. THERE IS NO ALLEGATION THAT THE CONSPIRACY CHANGED THE VOTE COUNT OR AFFECTED ANY ELECTION RESULT
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@GJOFJ3 That is true in those particular indictments. But that doesn't mean that other crimes were not committed, only that they didn't find Americans committed crimes related to the charges that those particular Russians were indicted for.

It is like saying in a murder indictment that there were no accomplices. That doesn't mean that no Americans were accomplices in other murders or committed other crimes. Nice try though.

@windinhishair In a press conference a few weeks before the 2016 election, President Barack Obama told Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump to "stop whining" about the possiblity that the election could be "rigged," saying that there is no evidence that election rigging has ever happened or could ever happen.

"There is no serious person out there who would suggest that you could even rig America's elections, in part because they are so decentralized. There is no evidence that that has happened in the past, or that there are instances that that could happen this time," the president said to the future president in October 2016

@GJOFJ3 We know that the Russians infiltrated the voting systems of a large number of states. Although there is no evidence that any votes were changed in 2016, that does not mean that it couldn't happen in a future election. Republicans support Russian interference in our elections, and McConnell and others refuse to take precautions to prevent it.

@windinhishair
Total BS.
1) There is no evidence that the Russians infiltrated any voting system of any state.
2) Republicans DO NOT support Russian interference.
3) What should McConnell do?
He is not in charge of FBI, DOJ, CIA, or any other counter intelligence

It's been almost 3 years. It's time to accept the results of 2016, find a better candidate than Hillary Clinton, and win the next election

@GJOFJ3 I accepted the election results when they occurred. The vast majority of people did. That doesn't mean that people have to support a soulless, amoral president.

The Russians did infiltrate voter systems. You just refuse to accept facts.

Republicans support Russian interference because they refuse to adopt any measures to prevent a recurrence, and because Trump benefited from the past interference and is actively encouraging more in 2020.

McConnell should support cybersecurity measures meant to make it more difficult for future interference. That he does not shows that he also encourages future abuses.

Nice try, but totally wrong again.

Just because Fearless Leader ignores Intelligence reports doesn't mean the rest of us should. The Senate Intelligence Committee concluded Russia succeeded in infiltrating not one but 21 US states during the 2016 election. But what could they know that you don't?

@windinhishair enjoy your delusion
Your reference article says "targeted"
This quote from your article
"There is no evidence that any of the registration rolls were altered in any fashion, according to U.S. officials"
Clinton campaign officials we in multiple contacts with foreign operatives to get dirt on Trump, and that didn't affect the election either, and if she had won that would not be reason to overturn the election either.
The Democrats control the house, what legislation have they proposed to curb foreign influence?
Seems to me this is for the justice Dept to do.
The Mueller investigation found no collusion. My
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@GJOFJ3 Thank you for providing proof of my point--state voting systems were accessed. I knew you could admit it. Who knows what they will do next time they are accessed? Republicans heartily approve of future tampering, as long as it benefits Dear Leader.

Where is your proof that foreign governments provided support to the Clinton campaign? That would be illegal, just as it was for Trump to knowingly receive support from Russia. Shouldn't we just lock her up?

Republicans in the Senate scuttled bills dealing with election security just this past week. Anything to get Dear Leader elected again is fair game.

http://nymag.com/intelligencer/2019/07/gop-blocks-election-security-bills-day-of-mueller-testimony.html

Mueller found that he could not prove collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. He also found that Trump and his aides lied to him repeatedly. But they held firm and any evidence of collusion was carefully concealed from view. The lies work as long as all the liars tell the same story.

Election security is not going to be a priority for this DOJ. The AG is in on the fix and that is his highest priority--protecting Dear Leader from the consequences of his actions.
