This is how Trump gets his stats - by rigging the game.
The Trump administration on Tuesday will propose a rule to tighten food stamp restrictions that would cut about 3.1 million people from the program, U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) officials said.

Currently, 43 U.S. states allow residents to automatically become eligible for food stamps through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, known as SNAP, if they receive benefits from another federal program known as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, or TANF, according to the USDA.
A lot of stores in Chiraq have been reported but there isn’t enough USDA officers to address that problem Low on priority for enforcement action

@Blackie Then fix the problems, don't punish the ones in need.

@Graylight ummm maybe the problem is being fixed with the tighter restrictions. Can’t ask to fix the problem then not agree with the solution. These are all estimates anyway.

@Blackie Untargeted and arbitrary tightening of restrictions translates into cutting off people from what they need whether they're gaming the system or not. That includes the disabled, vets, senior citizens, single mothers and families who have simply seen harder times than they can handle on their own. I think the system does need to be overhauled, but I think there are more intelligent ways to do it.

Incidentally, I don't think Trump's reasoning has anything at all to do with overhauls and need. It's about producing better numbers and pandering to a base who despises the homeless and less fortunate.

I believe the number has grown because it’s been unchecked and ignored for so long but whatever I say or whatever you say they’re just opinions and estimated numbers who knows what the truth really is and in regards to your statement Ive known people that worked with homeless vets they both welcome the presidents approach to providing housing for them over illegals and they don’t despise them.
