Are you sitting for this? Texas governor signs 'Save Chick-fil-A' bill.

I thought this was a joke so naturally, I did my research. It's really not difficult to do, conservatives.

Yes, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed the so-called Save Chick-fil-A bill into law on Thursday.

Welcome to trump’s America, where the poor are maligned, Congresswomen are discriminated against, climate change is denied, and chicken sandwiches are protected. Good job! Be proud, Republicans.

The Republicans will literally go to painstaking efforts to save chicken consumable products faster than they will save kids in cages.

That's your pro-life party.

Enjoy your time at church today, conservatives.

I’m sorry, what does he feel the need to save Chick-fil-A from ? Others’ right to boycott them because their CEO’s homophobic ?

And yet there are no anti-discrimination laws for LGBTQ individuals in Texas. 🙄

@bijouxbroussard If anyone's boycotting Chick-fil-A, it isn't working. In 2018, Chick-fil-A had the highest gross sales per restaurant than any other QSR (Quick Serve Restaurant) chain by more than a 33% margin over the 2nd place QSR chain. And they were open only 6 days per week, while virtually all of their competitors are open 7 days/week, with some of those even being open 24x7.

I've never experienced poor customer service at any Chick-fil-A restaurant. Their employees are consistently the happiest ones I ever encounter in the QSR industry. That may explain their per restaurant sales performance.

Most retail space leases include some percentage of gross sales as a component of the rent. Given Chick-fil-A's per restaurant sales, no landlord is losing one dime by leasing to Chick-fil-A, even though they don't open on Sunday.
@EnigmaticGeek So I repeat, “what does Abbott believe signing a ‘save Chick-Fil-A’ bill will accomplish ?” “Religious liberty” ? As you’ve indicated, the business obviously isn’t being penalized for its CEO’s religious beliefs.

@bijouxbroussard It will prevent local authorities in Texas from banning Chick-fil-A or any other type of business solely because of the religious beliefs of its management.
@EnigmaticGeek I’d be curious to know just how many Christian businesses have been banned in Texas. 🤔

@bijouxbroussard Chick-fil-A itself is not a Christian organization. It's arguably one of, if not the, most profitable restaurant chains on the planet. It was founded by a man who's faith was Christian, and who spent much of his personal wealth promoting his beliefs through his foundation.
@EnigmaticGeek Yes, I’m familiar. And he donates to organizations that discriminate against gays and lesbians. I’m just one little person, and obviously others don’t care, but I don’t knowingly fund people who promote hatred.

@bijouxbroussard He may have donated to some of the organizations to which you refer in the past.

He died 5 years ago.
@EnigmaticGeek I was speaking of Dan, not Truett.
EnigmaticGeek · 61-69, M
@bijouxbroussard I was speaking of Truett, the founder.

FWIW, I don't agree with some of the beliefs of some Christian organizations. If I had a foundation, I'd donate to different charities than Truett did, in many cases, possibly all, as I've not researched his foundation's beneficiaries.
