Does white privilege exist?

Privilege is a very touchy subject. Some people say whites are privileged, some say just white males are privileged, some say that blacks are privileged, and some say it’s the rich that are privileged.

Normally I don’t chime in with my personal opinions but as a Norse Pagan I believe we it is up to us to determine pure success. Nobody is above or under one another.

Of course it exists. And class privilege is even more obvious.

It doesn't mean that success is impossible, and it doesn't mean that it's always easy for white people. Everyone's situation is extremely unique, and rarely defined by their skin color.

But things just tend to go a little bit smoother for you when you're white, and especially when you're not poor. And you're a lot more likely to start out not poor right off the bat, too.

Probably the biggest source of privilege or handicap in life we all get is our parents. Race, class, character, genetics, education, country of birth, etc - some people are luckier than others when it comes to that stuff. This is just part of life, we all have to make the best of it.
