I Like Politics

So 2020 presidential runner Pete Buttigieg has been in hot water lately in the town he is mayor of (South Bend IN) the black community is pissed at him because a Officer of the SBPD shot and killed a black suspect who approached him with a knife which he then threw at the officer.

Buttigieg whom is polling at 0% among black voters has made it worse for himself in their eyes as he approached this shooting in thoughts of political gain rather than trying to find a solution.

South Bend is a crime ridden city with multiple shootings a day.

He tried appeasing the black community by calling his police department racist. Which did not change the black community’s opinion on him and now he has pissed off his police department.

In a weak attempt to apologize he bought to police pizza instead of actuallly manning up and apologizing. He didn’t even bring it in himself.

Pete is top 5 and beats Trump in head to head polling. It's a sign if his strength that you're posting negatives on him. That said, not my first choice, he's way too moderate

I dont know how the hell he could have found a solution for this. And the idea that the South Bend police force ISNT racist, is simply laughable.

OTOH, the mayor's an idiot for thinking that just saying it, was going to fix anything or help in any way.

@firefall the idea that a whole police force is racist is laughable. Are there sadly undoubtably, officers who are either racist or profilers. Just as there are doctors, lawyers, construction workers or truck drivers who a racist. The reality is we will never erase prejudice from the culture. As a matter of fact, the culture promotes separatism(again, sad but true). The bigger issue is people with microphones shoot off their mouths without filtering it first. We need to hold anyone accountable for these actions no matter what color they are....whites aren't the only racists....and blacks aren't all hoodlums and Mexicans aren't all illegal and the police aren't all crooked baby killers. Rant over...peace out! I'm gone.

@FORMERLYbatovn oh neat, more white supremacist bullshit. The whole police force, as an institution, IS racist. Thats true of almost every police force in the USA, even though many individual policemen aren't racist.
And pretending 'the culture' does anything is just so much specious handwaving. We are the culture, all of us. Choose differently, think differently, you change the culture.

If you think the big problem here is fatheads with microphones, then respectfully you haven't considered what it's like to have a member of your family judicially murdered without redress.
