It has rapidly regressed since 2016 and the speed of descent is picking up.
TakingBackMidgard · 31-35, M
Way too melodramatic for your age... sheltered I presume? @windinhishair
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@TakingBackMidgard Just watching with a lifetime of knowledge that you couldn't possibly comprehend.
TakingBackMidgard · 31-35, M
@windinhishair that’s the second most ignorant thing I’ve heard today.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@TakingBackMidgard The first being when you told yourself you were intelligent.
TakingBackMidgard · 31-35, M
@windinhishair and I said this when?
Meanwhile you claim we are regressing and you have a life time of experience.
So if I use your claimed age on here I’m assuming you miss Jim Crow laws?
Don’t like civil rights?
Miss the Vietnam War?
Are against Roe Vs Wade?
Now do you realize why I claimed you’re ignorant...
Nice try though 😂

@TakingBackMidgard You are one of the worlds most leading if not top idiots. How does your statement make any sense at all? Your logic seems to be that because things were worse in some areas 40 or 50 or 100 years ago, we couldn't possibly be going backward now, compared to more recent history? I suggest you sue your teachers, because they clearly failed.
We are clearly regressing as a nation. The administration is dividing the nation and using fear and hatred of immigrants, minorities, and Muslims to do it. The rule of law is under attack. Free speech is under attack. We have a leader who is a pathological liar who cannot tell the truth. Our allies know this, and our enemies exploit it. This administration is rolling back environmental and health and safety protections that you have up to this point enjoyed in your sheltered life. And that is just getting started. This is the worst administration we've had in our history, and it will be the worst one you see in your lifetime. And although you will stand back and do nothing, the majority of Americans refuse to accept our stark decline.

@windinhishair whose dividing us?
Where did anyone say group A must hate group B because group B is evil?
When did anyone say “hate “illegal” immigrants they are inferior and evil? Be precise especially if you’re going to make subjective claims.
Who is attacking free speech? Who is telling us we must limit who says what because it causes harm?
As a man of your age you are now just realizing that politicians lie!? And yet my teachers failed me...
The local water say and oceans act was signed last year giving the most funding to environmental protection so nice try.
The largest funding was also granted to national research projects in US history. So nice try.
This is the first time in history we have had a president who came into office supporting hay marriage before Santeria office so nice try.
But please enlighten me more on how horrible we have it.
Maybe you were convinced by liars we are in a horrid state and need help.
The only time I see people make subjective views like yours are college students or high schoolers.
Not in the work force. Not out and about in Day to day life.
It’s just a small group of people throwing a loud tantrum and
The many of “idiots” as you claimed are not buying it or falling for it
But by all means if you want to pretend life sucks and we are spirit long into a whirlpool of hate and sorrow be my guest.
You can cry and I’ll go on living large 🤣

@TakingBackMidgard I'll just take a few of your more ignorant statements, because it would take forever to explain all of them to you, and you clearly aren't cognizant.
I've worked full time since the late 1970s and am still working in a technical field doing work for Fortune 100 clients as well as the federal government. So nice try at obfuscation again, but you fall flat as usual.
The current administration has a disapproval rate in the mid 50s. That is not some "small group of people throwing a loud tantrum". It is a large group of people--the majority of the nation, actually--who are concerned about the actions of an amoral president whose words and actions cannot be trusted. Our former allies do not trust us. Nor should they.
People who think as you do are thankfully a minority who will not have a president once this one is removed from office after losing the next election. You go on "living large" for now, caring only for yourself. I'll keep working to make the world a better place for all people, not like the one you want for people who live large, love liars and wannabe dictators, and know the price of everything and the value of nothing. You have a long, sad life ahead blaming others for your own failures.
whose dividing us?
Apparently you have never heard the president talk. Or have chosen not to hear his words. He started his campaign on division and has never stopped. And it helped him get elected.Who is attacking free speech? Who is telling us we must limit who says what because it causes harm?
When the president calls the press "the enemy of the people" dozens of times, that is an attack on free speech. When he restricts access of the press to his office and statements, that is an attack on free speech. You are willfully ignorant if you cannot see or understand this. The local water say and oceans act was signed last year giving the most funding to environmental protection so nice try.
My local waters don't talk as yours do, but Trump has eliminated 83 environmental regulations, including those regulating the placement of mine spoils in waterways, controlling coal plant emissions, and regulating pesticides that cause cancer in children, among others. He has cut EPA funding significantly and reduced their staff. He has taken scientists off their Science Advisory Board and replaced them with industry personnel. Data on air and water quality shows a decline since he took office. Nice try at obfuscation, but anyone who works in this area, as I do, knows the truth. This is the first time in history we have had a president who came into office supporting hay marriage before Santeria office so nice try.
I'm not sure what hay marriage is...something from the Heartland perhaps? And I'm not sure why it was before Santeria office, whatever that is. So nice try. Maybe you should use English next time. The only time I see people make subjective views like yours are college students or high schoolers.

@windinhishair I’ll take “I don’t understand context clues for $500 Alex.”
So you understood gay marriage but had to reach at that bottom of the barrel for that. Because though you say you have life time of experience you act like a 12 year old
Calling the media that is not an attack on free speech.
Clearly you let the MSM such as Fox, CNN, etc do tbinking for you.
I guess critical thinking wasn’t one of those things you learned.
An attack on free speech is censoring people from speaking in opposition of one another, finging, and or hailing them for “hate speech” but not try.
And so far you haven’t given me any proof of division, just more emotional talk which for your age is really weird I get it if it comes from a 18 year old college fresh man art student / barista though.
And don’t even get me started on the environment. I’m an Environmental Manager for the State of Indiana and our latest study is on Lake Michigan. And luckily even though people like you who are clueless to actual science and your feelings are not science but I’m proud to say the Northern Pike population is finally rising in the Great Lakes.
The Golden Red Horse populations are on the rise. And if you know anything on them, they’re very sensitive to pollution and turbidity. They’ve been on the rise in the St Joe, tippy, white, Pidgeon, yellow, and Ohio rivers once again.
Those rivers are in on both sides of the continental divide so we get effects from the gulf and Great Lakes and Atlantic ocean.
This is also a by product of the S.756 - First Step Act of 2018 (SOS) Act
And again back to dividing us. When one group blames all their problems and woos on another person because they are AB&C reminds me a lot of a certain time period when a certain man blamed certain group for being AB&C.
And I’m just telling you now the whole reason Trump one in the first place is because of people like you. When you have people screeching that mere smiling is “white supremacy” don’t be surprised when you’re laughed at and lose ground politically.
And don’t use false narratives man, come on you’re an adult as you claim. I don’t blame my highs and lows on anyone but myself. But nice try.
My favorite thing though is when group A thinks a certain group of people are down on their luck and can’t do anything for themselves and needs group A for them to succeed and then have the audacity to think Group B are “racist”
And if that certain group doesn’t agree with Group A then Group A turns on those people and shuns them.
And with what Democrats have to offer for 2020 and people like you keep blowing badly projecting from your mouthes I won’t be surprised if Trump wins 2020. I could care less who wins just as long as it’s not Buttigieg.
And I never even voted for Trump I was on the moderate line but then the left went ape shit. That’s why he won over 71% of the independents during the SotU because idiots like you make up the most bizarre bullshit and hard working realistic people don’t want any of that nonsense.

@TakingBackMidgard Nice use of false narratives to attack what you believe is a false narrative. Though the irony is probably lost on you.
Well I'm glad that the Northern Pike population is increasing in the Great Lakes. And that proves what? That the Northern Pike population is increasing in the Great Lakes. It doesn't prove that Trump is good for the environment, or even good for the Great Lakes, or even good for the Northern Pike. He isn't, and his environmental policies have been almost universally negative. If you are an environmental professional as you claim, you undoubtedly know that.
National air pollutant concentration averages for ozone and particulate matter in the nation's air have increased under Trump. So have the number of unhealthy days for ozone and PM for 35 of the nation's largest cities. Trump's elimination of 83 environmental regulations will result in greater human exposure to pesticides and national air and water that is less clean than it is now. It will result in more deaths nationwide as a result of a diminished environment (regulations go through a cost-benefit analysis that looks at decreased deaths and illness by implementing the regulation, before they are promulgated). Keep monitoring your Northern Pike and other fish species and try to figure out what has happened in five or ten years if the gains stop or decline. We've made great progress on water quality in the Great Lakes since the Cuyahoga River burned in 1969 and 1970 (and many times prior to that). I remember when it occurred--it was one of the last straws before the EPA was formed. It doesn't take much to reverse the great strides we've made in water quality--improvements which have made the water quality better for Northern Pike and other species. I don't want to see those gains reversed, amid decisions made on political rather than scientific grounds. If you care about the environment, you don't put Scott Pruitt and Andrew Wheeler in charge of EPA with the objective of destroying its ability to function as a regulatory agency, as Trump has done, and largely succeeded. This also contributes to a division between people who care about the environment, and those who do not.
Interesting comments on the Golden redhorse. We had them in the stream behind us when I grew up and would see them often. The stream in the early 1960s was essentially an open sewer, and they were one of the few fish species able to tolerate significant pollution and poor water quality. The Ohio DNR Divison of Wildlife describes them as follows:
http://wildlife.ohiodnr.gov/species-and-habitats/species-guide-index/fish/golden-redhorse
The Iowa DNR says that while they are intolerant of continuous turbidity, rapid siltation, and industrial pollutants, it can live in streams with considerable industrial pollution because of its migratory nature. You might want to pick a better indicator species than one which tolerates considerable industrial pollution more than other similar species.
If you are an environmental scientist, you've seen the overwhelming evidence for global climate change, and the necessity for attacking the problem now while the impacts of action will be more profound. Pulling out of the Paris Accord is one of the worst environmental decisions I have ever seen and will set the nation back years, when we don't have much time to address the issue without major global consequences. Surely you believe in global climate change, as every other nation on earth does, based on sound science?
If you really think that attacking the media and a free press is not an attack on free speech, I really don't know what to say to you. You clearly don't understand that a free press is one of the bedrock principles of democracy. To attack the free press is to attack free speech itself. Our Founding Fathers understood this. You can read Jefferson's thoughts on a free press here:
https://famguardian.org/Subjects/Politics/ThomasJefferson/jeff1600.htm
Do you really not see the division in the country that the president exacerbates every day? He panders to his base and attacks Democrats and others who are not part of his base on a daily basis. No other president has divided the country to this extent, not even Nixon (and that's saying something). His White House violates the Hatch Act with impunity, as the Office of Special Counsel determined recently, when it recommended that Kellyanne Conway be terminated for repeated willful violations. Trump himself does nothing to try to unite the country as every president should be trying to do, and all that I have seen in my lifetime have tried to do (with varying degrees of success). Why do you think that Trump is the first and only president since polling began in the 1940s to never spend a day in office when even as many as half the citizens of the country support him? Because he does everything to please his base, and anything to attack, belittle, and minimize those who don't support him. Nice cherrypicking of data on his support by independents after the State of the Union Address, but his approval rating has consistently been in the 40-42% range for several years now, including before and after his State of the Union Address. I will be surprised if it gets much higher before the election.
A president trying to unite the nation wouldn't use the children of asylum seekers as pawns and deliberately separate them from their parents as a deterrent, as former AG Jeff Sessions and former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly have admitted. Keeping children in deliberately poor conditions divides the nation on how these children, and asylum seekers in general, should be handled.
People reacted negatively to Trump's election because they didn't want a president who was amoral and could not tell the truth. And indeed, many if not most of the people who have worked with him have found him incompetent, untruthful, and inept. People like former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, who called him a "f***ing moron", and his former aide Omarosa Manigault Newman, who called him a racist, bigot, and misogynist and says he uses the N-word and other racial slurs. The British Ambassador reported his incompetence and thin skin to his superiors in London, and was promptly punished by Trump for giving his opinion. And this is an ally. This is why people oppose Trump, and he has given his detractors no reason whatsoever to support him next year.
This is why the nation is regressing. Trump is not making American great again. He is doing the exact opposite through words and deeds alike.

They are also found in Lake Erie and larger reservoirs that have a stream or river feeding them. They feed on larval insects, snails, small mollusks, and other aquatic invertebrates.

@windinhishair Hey buddy the whole racist, misogynistic, homophobic, xenophobic rhetoric has been played out so falsely that it shares no meaning anymore and since the left has used it as their only base of foundation to attempt at making points so don't even go there.
You people have abused those words so much that it hides actual scenarios of racism and corruption.
example: I too am from Indiana, South Bend to be exact where Pete Buttigieg is mayor. The people who funded his mayoral campaign was funded by racist city officals such as Tim Corbett the old commander of Metro County Homicide. and Bob Urbanski a crook construction Manager.
Look up the South Bend Police tape scandal
These funders were caught making racist remarks on a recorded phone line and Buttigieg lied to protect them for his money flow. he also demoted the city's first black chief of police as he caught them in the act.
Now due to a recent shooting of a black man Pete is using the tragedy for political gain. So now the black community there and the police have shunned him.
So don't give me the racist this and that bullshit when the left clearly are still the plantation masters they were in the New America age as they are now.
As for the whole Paris Accord it's great that the US pulled out. Nowhere does that mean the US hates the environment it means they can combat the issues without regulation from a head.
Also don't play the "you're this so this" card on @TakingBackMidgard that is some child logic right there and one of the more frequently used Fallacies from the ignorant side.

@windinhishair Ask the Inuit Tribe about the increase of the Polar Bear Population... As for Trump saying some benign things, you wouldn't like George S. Patton one bit. He truly had a mouth. He also slapped a shell shocked soldier in Sicily. Now days weak guys such as your self would shit their diapers if they heard that. Wouldn't even think about how he never lost a battle especially against the National Socialists.
I love how you claimed Trump is attacking free speech. That is adorable, might need to get checked into the dementia ward. Obviously you're clueless on censorship from big tech and media outlets. But you like so many "woke" individuals are too busy making tin foil hats in your safe spaces to comprehend critical thinking. Critical thinking... That's a waste a time when CNN and Fox News can think for you.

@CoffinFeeder Ha I did see that! I am so thankful that the racist left is being exposed for who they truly are. It's nice to see the black community finally realizing it too. A lot of these Liberals who hate Colonialism also support Gentrification not realizing that Gentrification is the modern day colonialism and is hurting the minority community. The minorities especially the black community don't need our help they are strong and creative and can handle their own economic challenges. sure the crime might be high but if we stop over policing for petty crap things will straighten out.

@ValhallaAwaitsUs You're hilarious. Environmental Manager, my ass. Never once did I mention Buttigieg, but you and your lovebirds have turned this thread into a "Fuck Pete" diatribe when you lost the argument. It didn't take long. Your kind always show their true colors quickly. Fortunately, you and your ilk will have little or no impact on the country moving forward--Trump only has 20% approval with under 30 year old voters, so you are in a small minority and will end up in the dustbin of history.

@windinhishair ah. Plays the age card but is selective on postition.
You also using the ring master mentality.
Nice. You’re a real winner.
You don’t think like me you’re wrong mindset at its finest.

@windinhishair That’s cute you called yourself the winner. Either you’re a cold or a mentally disabled adult. In an argument the contender doesn’t proclaim self win or loss. Get educated for real though. You have people from around the world here just blasting away at your illlogcial and childish maturity
