Does Anyone Have A Pointer To The Sherman Tank Program?

Trump was talking about his campaign rally, AKA, the 4th of July military parade, explaining why there won't be any tanks rolling down Pennsylvania Avenue:

You've got to be pretty careful with the tanks because the roads have a tendency not to like to carry heavy tanks so we have to put them in certain areas but we have the brand new Sherman tanks and we have the brand new Abrams tanks. We have some incredible equipment, military equipment on display -- brand new. And we're very proud of it

Anyone know that the newest Sherman tank model is?

There will be 2 Abrams tanks, on display. They're being trucked in, and will be on a static display, somewhere.

The M4 Sherman was the main U.S. military battle tank during World War II. More than 50,000 Shermans were produced during the war. The tank proved to be inferior to most German panzers and it took the Army some time to develop tactics to make the best of the Sherman's limited protection and firepower.

Although the U.S. military stopped using Sherman tanks after the Korean War, Paraguay continued to use the M4 until 2018, according to the Army.

Defense officials were unclear what the president meant by "brand new Sherman tanks." A White House spokesman declined to elaborate on Trump's remarks.

It was unclear on Monday whether the Army has any Shermans left in its inventory of tracked vehicles.

Looks like he's off by about 70 years. Nothing new there.

@windinhishair OK, that explains it ;-)

You have to realize how limited his awareness is. The only way that they can communicate that a threat level has been heightened is by them explaining to him that they’re raising it from Bert to Ernie

whether they are on the ground or a truck, it is still militaristic and typical of a banana republic or dictatorship..

@Anopenheart Jared was there as well. As a matter of fact, they both attended the closed door meeting, between him and KJU. The State Department, was not represented, as far as I know.

Maybe President Toot-Toot wants to take one for a ride? He does have a demonstrative side when he gets behind the wheel of something big that goes fast!

All I know about Sherman Tanks is that Allied troops called them Ronsons and the Germans called them Tommy Cookers owing to their propensity to burst in to flames when hit

but we have the brand new Sherman tanks

Kim Jong-un said he'd be willing to ship over a few captured ones from the Korean War.
It's a secret. They were mothballed after the Battle of the Bulge..

@Majorlatency It's just another example of him rambling, like he knows what he's talking about. The problem, is that the world sees him for what he is now, and ignores his ramblings.

Perhaps a few of these will do? 🤔🤣

@Northwest Don't know if it's the newest, but it could possibly clean up any resulting parade mess! 😈

53 cubic yard bucket is over kill for most construction roll-offs! 😈

@DeWayfarer I trust you, I don't know anything about construction.

@Northwest Let's just say, with it's 80 ton capacity, it's more than enough to completely remove any stalled 33 ton Sherman tanks. And at least move a few 67 ton Abram tanks aside. 😅😈
The closest modernish vehicle to a Sherman at least cosmetically is a Bradley IFV and I think even those are gone.
