Serious question. Why should illegal immigrants get free health care?

@JaggedLittlePill everyone, regardless of citizenship or ability to pay, gets emergency care. All the illegals do is wait until the situation warrants a trip to the ER.

@easterniowegin Not sure of your point? People here are claiming that illegal immigrants get government aid and healthcare.

They do not.

Of course they can go into a hospital and receive care. That does not mean the government is paying for it. They still get a bill that needs to be paid.

@JaggedLittlePill Don't illegals enroll their children into our public schools? Don't they utilize our roads and emergency services without contributing to the payments? Don't they utilize anchor babies to get food stamps for their families?

@easterniowegin if they are here and have applied for asylum and are awaiting their time in court or to have that asylum granted they are considered legal. Just to help you out.

@JaggedLittlePill you are focusing on a small segment of the whole by zeroing in on the asylum seekers.
Those videos that you see of people jumping fences, they are NOT asylum seekers. The people who use children that are not theirs as props to gain entry into the country are not asylum seekers. The drug runners, the gang members are not asylum seekers.

*sigh* It’s all just so complicated. People want to survive and avoid greater pain so that’s where illegal immigration comes from. But then when a place is overcrowded resources are depleted. It’s just so confusing to me. The thrive to survive yet the selfishness that must be in place or else we lose our own self-preservation. Can someone please help me in this?

@Specialyouare isn't that why laws exist, and why charities exist, and why we have an immigration system, that does work?!
Unfortunately we cant help everyone in the world. Hell, we cant even help our own veterans in this very country.
But it feels like moving to eliminate our sovereignty as a country and eliminate borders is throwing the baby out with the bath water.

But it’s complicated right? And it hurts right? That we can’t help everyone in the world. That being too selfless can destroy us. So intriguing that none of us asked to exist, or choose our body, mind, the world, and all it contains and we were all forced to adapt in fear of death or greater pain. And so crazy to realize our limitations as human individuals, right? 😢

@Specialyouare this is what separates us from the rest of the animal kingdom...empathy, laws, etc. But we can be our own worst enemies, sometimes.
