Busing was a disaster and horribly unfair. These Dems are going nuts,and I'm one of them

Not all social experiments succeed, and it seems that busing created many problems while trying to solve one. I think Biden could easily have dodged a direct hit on this had he not flaunted the fact that he worked with segregationists to reinforce segregation, which is exactly how this is playing out. He could have pointed out that it was discontinued and regarded as an overall failed experiment while acknowledging that it may have helped some individuals as well. When he falls back on a states rights argument, it comes across as disingenuous, because the only time national politicians in either party use the argument is when they’re looking for an escape hatch on an issue they’d rather not take a position on. That said, the Democrats are in trouble if 1970’s school busing policy continues to consume more oxygen than current issues.
