Busing out of Berkeley CA was not like busing in the South. Sorry Harris, not buying your poor little girl bused story. You weren't from the projects.

@HannahSky Actually, I lived in Los Angels during much of the bussing age. It was volatile, filled with bias and an ever-present issue even for small children. Protests were common and if you think there's no racism in Ca., you are dead wrong.

@Graylight That's LA. Not Berkeley. My point is that it was not exactly the same as how awful it was in the South, in Berkeley. Much smaller community and different area of the state compared to LA. I know Berkley. She also never claimed it was a nightmare for her, like it was for many kids and families. She effectively used her experience, but Harris wants to paint a picture of something she didn't quite experience in the same way. Not saying it was a breeze. But how many years did she bus before moving to Canada or did she bus after Canada? When did I ever say there wasn't racism in CA? I didn't. I live in CA. I'm well aware of the racism and struggles people have here.

@HannahSky Look, I'm not angling for a fight. I'm merely suggesting it's hard to guage how any region so far away experienced something.
