Marianne Williamson??? WTH was she talking about?

Quick reminder though - Marianne Williamson is less insane than the person who currently has the nuclear codes.

Lot of intelligent folks on the debate stage last night (a couple not so much). I’m really proud of our candidates. Overall, it was a really good and substantive debate. Except for Bernie (sorry to offend anyone – just my opinion).

I went into watching the debates supporting no one in particular. I am no longer on the fence. I have no doubt of Kamala Harris’ ability to lead our country to a better place.

I am well aware that there are parts of Senator Harris’ record, particularly some of the decisions she made while serving as California’s chief law-enforcement officer, that give people pause. I think we should expect her to answer those criticisms as part of the vetting process … but, from what I’ve seen of her answers thus far, I do not consider those things disqualifying.

I also disagree with Kamala on healthcare but I trust her to not tear down the ACA while she’s discovering M4A is not feasible. Bernie would never be that savvy. He’d let it all burn down if he didn’t get his way. I know I’m upsetting people by saying that. We’ll just have to disagree on that one. Even if it was remotely feasible it’s not the best way to get us to universal coverage. I agree with everyone who says each new piece of healthcare leg is a bridge to universal. We do need it but you can’t do it in one fell swoop.

There is a very long way to go between now and November of 2020. There are many worthy candidates seeking the Democratic nomination … and whichever of them gets it will have my unwavering support in the general election. Right now, however, I very much believe that Kamala Harris will be that person … and I am all-in for her until or unless I have a convincing reason not to be.

“We are here knowing we are at an inflection point in the history of our world. We are at an inflection point in the history of our nation. We are here because the American dream and our American democracy are under attack and on the line like never before. And we are here at this moment in time because we must answer a fundamental question: Who are we? Who are we as Americans? So, let’s answer that question to the world and each other right here and right now: America, we are better than this. We are better than this.”
-Kamala Harris

I could not agree more.

Harris had a good debate, and she will rise in the polls as a result. She is right about this being an inflection point in history. Consequently, voting for whoever is the Democratic nominee is imperative, to remove the current stain in power and to begin the cleanup process. I don't have a favorite yet, but there are some really good Democratic candidates out there, and we will end up with a good nominee.

I really appreciated reading this post. I honestly didn't watch any of the debates, which I feel bad for not doing, but I had too much other stuff going on.
