You Americans know who the only real "Elite" is, Right?

All this rubbish I am hearing from the Conservative commentators and Republican representatives got me thinking. An "Elite" is a group that considers itself separate and above the regulars folks. In other words "Better" and therefore better qualified.. So not having the rules apply to them.
Now, maybe they are right. And personally, I dont want your remarkably average Joe running my life, my nation and my future. I want the best I can get. A member of an Elite is fine, provided he or she is focused on the job.
But lets look carefully at who the "Elite" is. Who decided to gerrymander the electorates, so that it takes 54% of the vote to be beaten? (for the good of the nation, of course) . Who pushes tax cuts for those with money and business interests? (Money being the biggest path of being "Elite") Who looks to preserve this status quo at all costs, placing it above integrity and the oaths of office and the spirit of America?
In my opinion, The Republican side is acting like the real "Elite". And Maybe thats Okay, if they are the best.. But they should be careful who they call an "Elite."

There's a good article which I'll link below detailing how conservativism is really about maintaining an aristocracy. It's very well written.

With that said, when I use the word elite, I use it to describe a mindset rather than a literal interpretation. Citizens can maintain elitism just by agreeing with it, agreeing is consent and that's how you get those things in the first place.

For instance the people who maintain caste systems in India would be elitism.
