You Americans know who the only real "Elite" is, Right?

All this rubbish I am hearing from the Conservative commentators and Republican representatives got me thinking. An "Elite" is a group that considers itself separate and above the regulars folks. In other words "Better" and therefore better qualified.. So not having the rules apply to them.
Now, maybe they are right. And personally, I dont want your remarkably average Joe running my life, my nation and my future. I want the best I can get. A member of an Elite is fine, provided he or she is focused on the job.
But lets look carefully at who the "Elite" is. Who decided to gerrymander the electorates, so that it takes 54% of the vote to be beaten? (for the good of the nation, of course) . Who pushes tax cuts for those with money and business interests? (Money being the biggest path of being "Elite") Who looks to preserve this status quo at all costs, placing it above integrity and the oaths of office and the spirit of America?
In my opinion, The Republican side is acting like the real "Elite". And Maybe thats Okay, if they are the best.. But they should be careful who they call an "Elite."

How are the "elitists" doing in Australia?, Or do you not have any? Get something straight and it is that $$$ talks, bullshit walks, and those whoever they are can grab on to being an elitist via having money is what you will see. Being elite and preserving the status quo, crosses political, religious, and racial lines. Again, money talks and bullshit walks. Go to a whorehouse with a loaf of bread. Knock on the door and when it opens and the lady sees what you have, you'll be sent on your way. Knock on the door, wad of cash in hand-your ass is in there as fast as ever. You Australians think you're God's gift to the realm of humanity? Wake up! You're not!

@soar2newhighs Yes.. Every word you said is correct.. And we also have the exact same issues. Of course, the whore houses are legal. But thats beside the point. I also stated quite clearly I am fine, having an Elite in charge as long as they are the best available.
My ONLY point was that it seems completely false for the side representing all the "Elite" values to be calling out the other side as the "Elites".
It's a game, politically charged, and they'll badger each other, but they being elitists, will do just fine. You think they care about the common person? No way, they're out for themselves.@whowasthatmaskedman

@soar2newhighs Again. We agree. I guess its up to us the pick the least worst. But again. Not the point. Its just name calling for all the wrong reasons is what I am saying.
In today's world, "name calling" by some is hoped to shame others. That said, if I have a vast sum of money, and someone says or calls me an elitist, so be it. Here in America, the PC climate has generated a vocabulary which is designed to shame others, particularly those who have wealth, may be conservative or religious. And that, my friend is horse shit! IT won't be effectual. Most people accused have a response which might be, "OK, bite me!"@whowasthatmaskedman

🤣
Facts are facts. "xenophobic", "racist", "elitist", and others, designed to shame people for their success, their religious and political views.@daisymay

@soar2newhighs Yes. I can see how it happens.. And in the land of the free its your right to respond that way at a personal level. I dont see the nation profiting by it, but I put that down to the societal breakdown that is accompanying the decline. Thats something we may disagree about, but Im happy to leave that for another time.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@daisymay In fairness, while we can argue right or wrong, the environment does exist.
We've always profited by our expression of freedom, which in another parlance, is "we agree to disagree", ergo the fabric of a society, where if only one side speaks...that society is FUCKED!@whowasthatmaskedman

@soar2newhighs
"xenophobic", "racist", "elitist"
So, there is no such thing as a racist, is that what you're saying?
It's a term, but it can be used by anyone. If you're astute, no doubt in the media, you've seen the word used quite often.@daisymay
daisymay · 51-55, T
@soar2newhighs But, you say it is a term designed to shame people and offer no evidence to support your claim. A racist is simply one who discriminates against people not of their own race.

Who "designed" the term and what were their motivations?
In the current political climate, those expressions, especially "racist" are used, and again to shame or be used against a person, or persons. I don't need to support my claim. You tell me why the term, and I'm sure you've heard it has been used, very much against our President. Conflating the act of description with shaming doesn't make you correct.

🤷‍♀️
Whatever you say. Call me a racist, xenophobe, but my response to those who say that to/about me is "Kiss my ass and call it a love story"!@daisymay
daisymay · 51-55, T
@soar2newhighs
Call me a racist
I didn't and had no intention of doing so. Maybe you should ask yourself why you're so defensive about something that didn't happen?
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@soar2newhighs To keep this in some sort of perspective. In my country and in Britain for certain, the "Elite" is the Moneyed upper class conservative class. To my knowledge, only in America does this class call out others for being an "elite" as some kind of insult.
