All politicians lie. Party has nothing to do with it

@Elegy call it what you will but his statement is still correct.

@TheunderdogofNY no it isn't and it over simplifies. Technically everyone lies, it is not and never has been a good excuse. I have another idiom for you, two wrongs don't make a right.

@Elegy it's not an excuse. It's a fact. Whether it's over simplified or not. But it's fine if we don't see eye to eye on this. I'll carry on.

@TheunderdogofNY If you want to correct the OP and say 'all politicians lie then I am perfectly in my rights to point out that everyone lies. It is the same premise and the same logic. There is not a person alive of normal mental function that has not lied before for a number of different reasons. Saying that two of the most powerful Republican politicians are proven to be far more dishonest than the average politician is also accurate and saying 'everyone else lies or 'all politicians lie' does not change nor excuse the first fact.
Along the same lines, saying that "All politicians lie. Party has nothing to do with it" does not refute the OPs stated experience. "Republicans on SW lie as frequently and brazenly as their great leader". It is the same experience I would say we have all had and @MarineBob's attempt to delegitimize her experience by stating the obvious is imho a horrible excuse for being a complete cunt.
