Republicans, Democrats, Trump, no Trump. Does it Matter?
Everyone here has an opinion on Trump. Or Obama, or the Republicans, or Democrats. Thats called Freedom. Pro guns, Pro Life. Pro weed, pro environment. Great! Lets Make America Great again. Wonderful. Now let me give you four Clinton words on why none of this $h*t matters. "Its the Economy stupid."
The Trade Deficit. (How much more you bought from other countries than you sold to them) Is growing by over a US$ Trillion a year and on Trumps budget numbers will reach over US$29 Trillion in 4 years. Even if he loses office the number will still be close to that. The interest bill itself is never going to be repaid, let alone the principal. Trumps assertion that the US will never default "because we can just print more money" shows his stupidity, but moving past that, when the US was king of the world, he had a point. US$ were the default trade currency. Backed by gold. But it isnt any more. China and the Euro both have leverage to deal the dollar out of any future Trade deals and Trumps withdrawal from trade deals makes that way more likely. Then America will be vulnerable to hyperinflation if it prints money instead of selling stuff at competitive rates. Something it still has not learned to do. Hence the tariffs.
So. What are the options? Do nothing. Which is whats happening, until a big trade partner decides not to take $ as payment and wants, goods or a third currency. And they will pick a time when America cant refuse the offer.
Sell off assets. Anything from Wyoming and Idaho as farming land to Guided Missile destroyers and Supercarriers or Technology.
Or default and learn to be self sufficient because no one will trade with you as a defaulter. A massive drop in the standard of living and a dislocation of society would follow. A lot of hungry people with guns.
Of course, World War 3 is an option to destroy the global economy and effectively burn the books. But lets not think about that since America as you know it wouldnt come through that either.
So you see. Trump and his BS dont matter. The Senate doesnt matter. Impeachment doesnt matter. Abortion rights dont matter. Gun laws dont matter.
Because in the long term the American economy has already spoken for the nation.
