Eisenhower. The interstate highway system is the most positively impactful program championed by a US President in the last 100 years. It absolutely transformed this country in terms of commerce and mobility, and it’s as important today as it was when it was developed. On top of that, Eisenhower’s final address to the nation as President turned out to be prophecy.
@SW-User big eisenhower fan here.

@SW-User Eisenhower was another good one.

Reagan, because he was the only prez in my lifetime that actually influenced something that had a positive personal affect on my life.

@BrewCityBarfly He was good!

That would be my mother's favorite. Mine would be John F. Kennedy.
luckranger71 · 51-55, M
Lincoln
FDR
JFK
Eisenhower
Truman
Obama

In that order
MaryJanine · 70-79, F
I liked him, too, but that might be prejudicial for me to say because he is from my home town (Chicago)as was the First Lady and their girls. I chose Kennedy because he was the first one I was aware of as a little girl, and I liked the way he governed (I was eight going on nine at the time).

Just from having studied them, my personal favorite is probably Teddy Roosevelt.
beckyromero · 36-40, FVIP
FDR, Lincoln and Washington would all be great picks.

In my lifetime?

I'd probably have to go with Ronald Reagan. (I was born during his second term.)

But only because Bill Clinton got impeached.

If no impeachment, I'd go with Bill.
SW-User
how could you include Reagan with those picks....sorry, was 12 when he was first elected.@beckyromero

In my lifetime, the choices would be:
Reagan
Bush 41
Clinton
Bush 43
Obama
Trump

Reagan is the best of a dysfunctional group.
SmartKat · 61-69, F
@fun4us2b He won the Civil War. OTOH, I’ve heard he had a drinking problem.
fun4us2b · M
@SmartKat If he drank, he got totally smashed - so he avoided drinking as best he could - it was a predisposition he struggled with - in my view he was a strong and amazing person - after being a General - he had to take over from that Shithead Johnson who tried to undo everything...
SmartKat · 61-69, F
@fun4us2b True - there was not as much knowledge about alcoholism back then.

I was not alive at this time but I think LBJ was my favorite. " let's make a great society," he was a democratic president that believed in tax cuts and he signed that very important Civil Rights legislation. He was truly a great VP and carried on the work and legacy of his elected president, JFK. Lastly he was a man that had a fashion sense the LBJ cowboy hat has been popular with every generation since. When you have on a LBJ hat you are the Rebel All American smart ass that is Tough and won't be pushed around, while maintaining that Gentleman Swagger.

@PainfulTruth I never said I thought he was perfect. He did some things I didn’t like.

My other favorite POTUS was Obama; and I don’t think he was perfect, either.

IMHO, people need to stop looking at things (and people) as all-good or all-bad. Nobody’s perfect. And almost nobody is totally wrong all the time.

He was - but he also wore thick glasses and spoke in a an unnaturally high voice which people made fun of until they got to know him.

None. They're all puppets of both establishments and lobbyists are the only real people who actually run things behind the scenes, as long as they buy politicians, there's no real thing that gets done. They only develop programs "just enough" to stop citizens from being angry but never really anything more. It's only just barely enough and will continue to be so under current system.

And also Reagan was a murderer, screw Reagan.
