British people, how would you feel if Labour adopted a clear pro-remain position?

I am afraid I cannot tolerate Corbyn.. I would like to be able to.. but he lost my respect with that filming a supposed full train with no seats but the footage shows him walking past loads of empty seats.. He lied and was dishonest imo.. and I cannot respect or bring myself to vote for such a person.. There have been other things..

My son votes for him.. if that helps.

@Adaydreambeliever TBH it seems like a very small reason not to vote for someone. Say hi to your son though. 😉

@Burnley123 lol are you kidding??? This is how Strumpet got in.. if you vote in a liar then you will get a lying bar-steward who you cannot trust.. No, sorry we have to hold politicians accountable.. We need them to demonstrate in every way that they are worthy of the status and that they will serve the country well.. a liar won't.. it's not acceptable.

@Adaydreambeliever I think that there are a lot more important things going on but each to their own.
Adaydreambeliever · 56-60, F
@Burnley123 Nothing is as important as holding people, especially pols to account.. if we let idiots and liars run the country then we will have way more to worry about.. Look at Trump... if anything even remotely as arsehole stupid, ignorant and dishonest as that got in here I'd have to assassinate him myself - no way could I stand by and let my country suffer like that.

But seriously... honesty is the cornerstone and the very least we should insist upon in a leader.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Adaydreambeliever He is honest almost all of the time. Nobody is perfect. Think tories in Brexit, the whole Brexit campaign lib dem student fee sellout. If this one issue is important to you though, fair enough
Adaydreambeliever · 56-60, F
@Burnley123 a liar is a liar.. once you have crossed that line you are no longer honest.. It's not about being perfect - it's about a fundamental expectation we should have of our leaders.. that they will act in our best interests and one that's deliberately setting out to lie is not one we can trust to do that.. simple..
If we excuse liars then seriously we have a lot more to worry about.. because it's the slope to politics like America where their response is, 'all politicians are liars'.. In life too, if we excuse and condone liars then...
I know you care about Brexit.. I get that.. it's important to you .. but the simple truth here is that Corbyn is seen as a weak and unpopular leader - had there been a credible Labour leader perhaps the result would have been different
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Adaydreambeliever Have you ever told a lie?
Adaydreambeliever · 56-60, F
@Burnley123 no but that isn't the point. If I lied like a trooper in my private life but did so at work.. then I could expect that not to go down well.. He deliberately tried to lie to the people.. that's a very different thing.. very.. I appreciate you aren't getting that.. I think you do really, unless you are corrupt yourself, but it's serious.. if we accept lying leaders then we cannot trust them and that's vital..
This isn't about lying.. it's about standards.. if you want to live in a country where no one can trust our leaders because they lie whenever they feel like it then we may as well start hoiking in the likes of Reagan and Trump.. or dipstick idiots like Bush..
Adaydreambeliever · 56-60, F
@Adaydreambeliever just a few more thoughts.. I do appreciate you feel differently... but I honestly feel that a liar is someone we cannot trust.. it smacks of Trumpet.. we seriously don't want to start that slippery slope.. If we don't fight injustice and hold our standards then we are contributing to a world where standards keep falling and no one can trust anyone else..

@Adaydreambeliever.... And on current predictions Boris will be PM in a couple of months. A man sacked as a journalist for making stories up. A man repeatedly shown to lie. He even lied in his resignation letter to Mrs May.
I'd take Corbyn over him any day.
