I got my brother pretty good. He uses the day after pill with his gf sometimes [I mean, he doesn't take it. At least I hope he doesn't. 馃], and thinks it's totally fine. I was like "Okay, but aren't you preventing conception from occurring? Isn't that similar to abortion?"
He was like, "No, because conception doesn't begin until fertalization, and that doesn't happen until after 5 days." And then we got into a debate about when a "human life" is actually formed. I showed him that you could reasonably believe that it begins at any point before the fetus is formed [though, I support abortions prior to 20 weeks, before the fetus can experience pain], and that the possibility of fertilization can begin as soon as a few minutes after the act. Meaning, if he believes that conception begins after implantation, that means that he's been willfully aborting all his babies by using the Plan B pills.
I think he understood at the end that it wasn't such a cut and dry "it's murder" thing. Especially since I convinced him that he may have been aborting all his babies. xD

@Tatsumi I would add thatno pregnant woman would suddenly be all like "no! I want an abortion !" especially after 20 weeks. And the abortions are totally fine after 20 weeks if they do pose a threat to the life of the mother or the fetus or the fetus has some kind of disability that would either kill it after birth or make it's life and the parents life a living hell.

Typically, medically speaking, conception is synonymous with fertilization. There is a secondary definition that refers to implantation, but that is typically not used.
In medical terms, implantation tends to happen 5 days after conception.
