Science tells us that the first thing in a fetus is a heartbeat.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@calicuz Not first, but it happens pretty early, yes.
So what? The heart pumps blood. You need one to live, but it’s not what makes you a person.

@QuixoticSoul: That's what makes the fetus a life and not a blob.

@calicuz
using abortion as a means of birth control
Nobody that spouts this talking point has ever bothered to respond with their statistics and citations regarding this apparently huge phenomenon. I've also heard them called "convenience" and "luxury" abortions. Would you like to be the first one to show us how many of these frivolous abortions there are and how many women have them? Is it like guns and it's an extremely small population getting huge numbers of abortions?

@calicuz why do people approve of abortion in cases of rape and incest? Is that fetus less human to you? Why is it's "life" expendable?
Yet you would disapprove of a mother of three whose diaphragm failed getting an abortion even though another child would be more than she could cope with and she never consented to pregnancy as evidenced by her prior birth control measures.
You don't care about the medical expenses, time away from work, not to mention the physical and emotional toll of pregnancy and childbirth. Nevermind that she could actually die from having a baby - something more likely to happen in the USA than the rest of the West - and leave her existing kids orphans. Nope. She had sex and maybe enjoyed it so she deserves to be saddled with all that because people like you don't approve of her medical decisions.

@calicuz A functional brain is what makes you a person, and not just a piece of meat. Which is why you’re still you even with an artificial heart.

"The life of the mother" should include like, her ability to live her life. Of course you only mean it literally as in, "she might die".

@calicuz Toodles then 👋
Doomflower · 36-40, M
@calicuz bye. Have fun being wrong. I hope no one you care about ever needs an abortion and has to hide it from you because you're judgmental dick.

I've noticed NO ONE who is anti choice but makes an exception for rape and incest has given a good reason the "life" of the rape embryo is worth less than the "life" of the embryo implanted because of failed birth control.
calicuz · 51-55, M
@Doomflower You are correct, so maybe this new "8 Weeks Law" is the answer and maybe we shouldn't make exceptions for rape or incest.

@calicuz men like you who say such things should have their faces posted so women know not to fuck you.

@calicuz
I'm done here.
Sure you were, sweetie!
Now, how about answering my question from earlier? Here, I'll repost it for you, since you're probably as lazy as you are dishonest:

And, just to head off any chance at being disingenuous with some variation on "what talking point?!?!?!" I'll remind you that it was this one, by you:
