Americans, do you support military intervention in Iran?

If you do, please explain under what circumstances you would see it as acceptable and what you think it would achieve.

Yes. Any circumstances would be sufficient. I would apply the Afghan or Iran model, i.e., depose the government, dismantle the military and set up a democracy.

@HoraceGreenley Cos that worked sooooooooo well in Iraq.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@Burnley123 Yes it did

Any circumstances?

WTF?
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@Burnley123 Time for the mullahs to leave. Their own citizens despise them.

Then I'm honestly not sure what your criteria would be for unsuccessful military intervention.

@HoraceGreenley you know..western democracy sounds much better on paper than it really is
MethDozer · M
@HoraceGreenley It hasn't ever worked in the entire history of trying. What fantasyland you living in? Counter-insurgency and nation building has never ever worked.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@Burnley123 Iran is still the biggest state sponsor of terrorism. Iraq was until Saddam was bagged.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@MethDozer In my experience, there are a lot of people who are against most previous wars but end up supporting whatever war is happening now.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@MethDozer Iraq is no longer the biggest state sponsor of terrorism. That's the goal.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@HoraceGreenley No Saudi Arabia is, as it always has been, before and after 9/11.

There were no links between Sadam and Al Queda. I thought that myth got busted a long time ago.
MethDozer · M
@HoraceGreenley Lmao....okie dokie bro. I guess you missed the fact memos. Iraq was never a real threat and Islamic terrorist cells have thrived since our invasion.
MethDozer · M
@HoraceGreenley Iran doesn't support the Sunni terrorism that is a threat to us specifically. They only retaliate against Saudi and Israel really. The links between Al-Queda, Taliban, ISIS, and other wahabist terror cross has been busted by out West Point studies.

Nope, this recent loading contest is what makes Iran a real threat to us. In reality they just want their region left alone.

@HoraceGreenley You usually talk shit on here but this time you really have outdone yourself so bravo to you. Never have I heard such utter bollocks in all my life.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@HoraceGreenley
Iraq is no longer the biggest state sponsor of terrorism. That's the goal.
Iraq was not the biggest (or even big) sponsor of terrorism to begin with. Where did you pull that spicy nugget from anyway?
MethDozer · M
@QuixoticSoul Doesn't matter of it was or wasn't . It isn't now, so....Success!!!!!

We at least stopped it from becoming one
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@MethDozer Created ISIS in the process, but that’s mostly solved now too so... double plus good!
MethDozer · M
@QuixoticSoul Cheney kicked ISIS ass before ISIS even existed . So much win.
