All Eyes On Venezuela As Socialism Fails Again

President Nicolas Maduro dictatorship is showing signs of failure.
The people of Venezuela want freedom from oppression.

President Trump has recognized the subjugation of the Venezuelan people and American credibility to the violent authoritarianism of Nicolás Maduro. He has responded by pledging the calibrated application of American power to the accession of interim Venezuelan President Juan Guaidó.

Trump has been magnificent in guiding the movement to freedom.
Do you agree?
Or are you in support of tyranny?

This is NOT socialism. This is dictatordhip, the opposite of a socialistic democratic society!
@Carazaa Well dictatorship is what Guaido wants to bring back to Venezuela.

The socialists are loved there and for good reason. 75% poverty reduction under Chavez and the poorest have access to basic medical care now. They will never support Guaido because it means a return to the days when they starved or died of perfectly preventable illnesses so oligarchs like Guaido could buy a 2nd yacht.

How could you possibly know that?
Ypu are simply making shit up - again.
@Budwick No I am not. I just actually bother to crack a book and inform myself on the issue instead of parroting press releases.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow You found a book about the Venezuelan revolution occurring now? Impressive.
@Budwick Idiots like you think things magically start and end in a news cycle. The socialist revolution happened 20 years ago. The only reason their is unrest now is because Washington thinks Maduro is an easy target.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Venezuela has been brewing a long time. People there revolting.
@Budwick yeah a few hundred oligarchs and their trust fund babies partying in American frat houses. That and a few hundred useful idiots bought by the NED with your taxes.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Explain how that relates to Venezuela promptly, so I don't have to delete your comment.

Be good, be honest - or it goes away.
@Budwick It is relevant because most of the support for guys like Guaido besides NED are other oligarchs many who left their nominal country years ago and don't give a shit about the people. Just like most of the western backed "opposition" to Putin live in luxury condos in London and have not set foot in Russia since Seattle grunge was a thing. Or how most of the money for the IRA and UDA came from Boston.
@Budwick I know some of the people who support him here in Canada and they are some of the most entitled and clueless people you can find.

So the people you know are clueless. And in your opinion, that means Guaidó is not a good choice?

Juan Gerardo Guaidó Márquez is a Venezuelan politician who is the President of the National Assembly of Venezuela and is recognized as acting President of Venezuela by 54 governments.

What does it matter what you or I think of the guy? I'm not trying to shape the future of Venezuela. Are you?
@Budwick He is backed by a bunch of expats that literally see themselves as royalty in exile and don't give a shit about their country of birth or the people they just want the keys to the palace. Guaido is a political opportunist who arbitrarily declared himself ruler. As for the 54 nations they are US client states that would back a sock puppet for approval from Washington like a child desperate for approval from a checked out parent. This not democracy it is colonial imperialism.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow What does it matter what you or I think of the guy? I'm not trying to shape the future of Venezuela. Are you?
@Budwick bullshit. By backing this you help create a narrative to justify the US arbitrarily deposing governments and installing colonial governors.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow How is TALKING about it - backing it?
I'm not backing shit!
YOU - are backing something - although you won't reveal what.

The people chose the guy - not me.
I find it fascinating cuz it's a socialist crap house failing.
THAT is the story to me.
What happens from here? How the fuck do I know.

ONLY you seem to know.
Shithead.
@Budwick You are cheerleading for regime change. The people had zero say. He literally declared himself president on his own with zero mandate from anyone in the country.

I actually read up on the subject and don't wait for Fox and Friends to tell me what to think. Read my response to blueveins.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow All I've done on this thread is reign your wild ass in.

No cheerleading.
You are projecting.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow
Read my response to blueveins.
I don't see him on this thread.
@Budwick Your original post reads like John Bolton wrote it for you.

Sorry. That was on another thread on the same topic.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow By backing this you help create a narrative to justify the US arbitrarily deposing governments and installing colonial governors.

What did the US gov't do that led to the toppling of Maduro besides state that he needs to acquiesce to the wishes of the people. He was voted out and needs to leave the office and if necessary the country. That is what makes democracies work is that the will of the people is followed, even if they end up changing their mind a few years later. If he's that good then he will need to campaign his way back in control.
@Notme123abc The problem is that is not what happened. Guaido arbitrary declared himself dictator with no mandate from anyone inside the country. The legal leader is Maduro and the people and most of the military is behind him. The only support he has in Venezuela as near as I can tell was a few NED funded riots.
