As long as the economy is doing good.

@SheikYerbouti What is the GDP threshold that allows unfettered lying? 2% growth? 3% growth?
SheikYerbouti · 51-55, M
@windinhishair You just don't focus on GDP alone. How's unemployment nationwide? Home buyers? 401k/IRA ?
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@SheikYerbouti So what unemployment rate allows the president to tell lies with impunity? How many homes have to be sold so he doesn't have to tell the truth? How much does someone's 401K/IRA need to go up so the president doesn't have to worry about facts or tell the truth about anything?
SheikYerbouti · 51-55, M
@windinhishair Name a President that hasn't lied.
I can care less about what he says now. Most people will vote with their wallet and not some one sided morality test. It's always the "other guy " that lies, isn't it?

@SheikYerbouti I will put you down for "lying is just fine. No problem at all."
SheikYerbouti · 51-55, M
@windinhishair Oh no....not THAT! Didn't answer my question which is interesting.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@SheikYerbouti You didn't answer mine about whether you lie more since your leader does? You clearly have no problems with his lies, with exceed any other president by orders of magnitude.
SheikYerbouti · 51-55, M
@windinhishair How so? Oh, so it's better to have told a few lies as opposed to many? Of, the Democrats don't lie, right? Your mind was already made up. Still can't answer my question though.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@SheikYerbouti All politicians lie on occasion. Trump lies as a default. There is no equivalency.
SheikYerbouti · 51-55, M
@windinhishair Only on occasion? Strongly disagree. But, to lie a few times is better than constantly. ..interesting. I suppose it's also ok for whichever side you're on to lie because it's justified.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@SheikYerbouti Lying isn't justified. By either party. But when you cannot rely on anything the president says, that's not a good situation to be in.
SheikYerbouti · 51-55, M
@windinhishair I agree. But, just as no politician is completely honest, neither do they lie all the time either.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@SheikYerbouti This is one area where Trump truly is the best. We have never suffered through a president whose word on anything cannot be trusted.
SheikYerbouti · 51-55, M
@windinhishair I'm not enough of a True Believer to buy into that. Even I never said the same about Obama, because it isn't true.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@SheikYerbouti Apparently you have never watched Trump on TV or tried to verify his public statements.
SheikYerbouti · 51-55, M
@windinhishair Yeah...that's it. I've never watched him on TV 🙄 You wouldn't believe anything he says anyway. Everything will always be a lie. True Believers have no credibility.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@SheikYerbouti I would gladly believe what he says if it was true. It doesn't make me happy that he lies in the moment without fear of consequence, and it is even more troubling that his supporters and true believers believe and enable his lies.
SheikYerbouti · 51-55, M
@windinhishair Well you have already concluded that nothing he says is true. That's as bad as the birther types who still refuse to believe Obama was born in the US.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@SheikYerbouti I have concluded that he is fundamentally dishonest based on his public statements and actions since he announced his candidacy in 2015. I had reached no conclusion on his honesty and trustworthiness prior to watching him in action. That has nothing to do with the birther movement, which is based on no observation or factual information. You might as well say that believing Ted Bundy is guilty of murder is the same thing as being a birther.
SheikYerbouti · 51-55, M
@windinhishair No, it means that no matter what evidence is shown to you, it will be false because you have a preconceived idea that anything that might contradict such a belief, is automatically not true. That's what it means. You already determined that he lies all the time, so it's no wonder that's the only thing you hear.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@SheikYerbouti He has lied over 10,000 times in public during his presidency by comparing his statements to documented fact. Has this preconditoned me to expect a lie when he opens his mouth? Of course it has. Any objective human being watching the president closely would expect to hear a lie rather than a fact when he makes a public statement or tweets. If he suddenly changed and began talking factually, that would change my opinion. But after more than two years in office, it is clear that is not going to happen.
SheikYerbouti · 51-55, M
@windinhishair Hmm, 10,000 times and "documented" of course. You make the same arguments the rabid Obama haters made, and still make. It's just that you've already decided that Trump lies all the time. I don't believe you'd change your mind at all because that would contradict your beliefs. You can not like a president, yet have the intellectual honesty to say that they did something good you agree with or said something truthful.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@SheikYerbouti That's what I just said, Bozo. I would gladly see the president be honest, but that doesn't appear to be in his makeup. You should question why you accept such dishonesty in your president and how it affects your own honesty in everyday life.
SheikYerbouti · 51-55, M
@windinhishair Dummy..I said that you wouldn't accept anything truthful from him because you've already made up your mind that he can't be truthful. At least be honest that there's nothing he can say or do that would change your mind. I accept dishonesty in all presidents. Not just the one's who aren't in my party.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@SheikYerbouti Why would I not accept honesty from a president? My opinion is based on his past performance. I would love for him to begin being honest. You're just completely wrong that there is nothing he could do to change my mind. In fact, it would be very simple. Start being honest with the American people. He could start it today.
But he won't.
So you assume all of your presidents will be dishonest? Wow. No wonder you support him rabidly. He meets your criteria for dishonesty.
