@Picklebobble2 For the sake of definition let's say Bernie Sanders version which is close to the general across the board ideology.

@OwnerOfMany Right let's get this clear. American's idea of what constitutes Left and Right varies drastically from what the rest of the world considers either one or the other.

Which is why i asked the question.

In that regard, i have to say i have no clue as to what that phrase means since it has no bearing on anything logically defined by the rest of the world, which, incidently, had varying forms of Socialism long before America decided to use it.

@Picklebobble2 America truly has found ways to distort the meaning of socialism. Last I checked, it had to do with how workers had shares, participation in who they worked for, changing the for to with.

Not the way Americans understand it. Even taking a sample on SW, the conservatives equate socialism with communism.
