Canada and Trudeau

So many don't want a conversative government, but his stubborness and privledge is likely going to make it happen. He campaigned on women's rights and reconciling Indigenous rights as well. So his first expunging, firing, from caucus is someone who did speak out against him, in how she felt pressured and threatened. Soon as the (ex) attorney general releases recordings where she felt threatened she is dismissed out of caucus. Trudeau needs to take a long look at himself

Doesn't matter who is elected really, they will all make a mess of things. PC, Liberals, NDP, they are all the same really when it comes to being dishonest. Unfortunately, you can't please everyone and there will always be hatred towards the person at the top. Even though that person is being told what to do by a lot of different people who claim to be experts. Can anyone remember the last time we had a politician that didn't have issues while governing? Personally I like to focus on the good things being done instead of jumping on the hatred bandwagon.

@gmatthewb Maybe. I think Trudeau is forgetting something. I never believed him, but many did, there is a stark contrast if you campaign about Indigenous rights, equality, and the first you dismiss from caucus, doing her job, is an Indigenous woman. He is about to learn that mistake. Alienating himself from who might give him benefit of doubt?

@SW-User So all the good things the government has done for equality and indigenous rights and trying to make things right are completely ignored because of one mistake? Are you sure you're Canadian, talking a lot like an American here. I don't really support any government party, they are all going to say anything they can to get elected. Been like that for as long as I can remember and it will stay like that long after I'm dead. I find it funny when people are surprised when a politician breaks a promise or does something wrong. I just expect it and am entertained by it all. Politics in Canada are as laughable as they are in the US. It is all a huge joke on the citizens and we all just play along.

@gmatthewb One I never trusted Trudeau or the Liberal Party and shaming a woman they trusted as Attorney General isnt the Canada I signed up for. I am Canadian. I can be as forgiving as the best of them, but using what you once celebrated to dismiss is not cool. History will tell, Trudeau is leaning on her being aboriginal, prejudice, and making a mockery of himself.

You're probably right. But what is complaining about it going to accomplish? You know as well as I do that politicians only care about the citizens when it is election season. So, this whole SNC Lavilan thing has been handled poorly. There is nothing that you or I can do about it. Think any of the other political parties could have done better? Does one or two mistakes and five or six accomplishments make for a failure?

@gmatthewb Yes, I am very far from a Conservative, but they themselves would have known to not try and meddle the way Trudeau did. If they did, they would have an AG willing to play along. Which might be worse? But to shame an Attorney General for following her duty in law is a new low. I think you are missing the picture.

@SW-User I don't disagree with you. But I don't see what complaining about it accomplishes though. It wasn't even Justin's choice anyway. He is in charge of course so he gets blamed for everything. But I am sure he was told by his advisors to make specific choices and they assured him that it will work out. Someone made a mistake somewhere and it has gotten out of control. Justin isn't the only one at fault here but you're putting all the blame on him. For me, I'll just wait for one of the other parties to do something worse in 4 or 8 years. It will happen, always does. Then people will go on about how horrible the leader is instead of blaming the party.
SW-User
@gmatthewb He had a choice. He's choosing to not accept his own failure and calamity.
gmatthewb · 51-55, M
@SW-User If you say so. I wasn't there so I don't know for sure what happened. All I have to go on is news companies and what they think about the situation.
