I just heard this on the radio here in Windsor, Ontario. The mayor of Windsor has a petition going to rename the new international bridge crossing between Windsor, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan from its current name of the Gordie Howe bridge to the Drew Dilkens Memorial. Says it's supposed to be a legacy thing. Should this bridge be renamed in honour of an unknown municipal mayor, or left as it is, named after a well-known hockey player?

We already have had the Ambassador Bridge between Detroit and Windsor. I like the Gordie Howe Bridge because of his ties between Detroit and Canada, if it is named after a person. And we have the Peace Bridge between the US and Canada in Buffalo. I would like to see it called the Friendship Bridge to honor the strong ties between the US and Canada. We might want to wait until Trump is gone from office before doing that though, since he's trashing our allies.
Excellent idea. The “DONALD J TRUMP BRIDGE” @windinhishair

@jackjjackson Problem with that is that only 37% of Americans would use it, and no Canadians. Plus, if it was the Trump bridge, it would be structurally unsound, collapse of its own weight, and be blamed on someone else--anyone else.
Woke up on the wrong side of the couch this morning did we? @windinhishair

@jackjjackson Just looking at reality. You suggested a Trump bridge, not me. It will never happen.
Probably not but a better second choice to Gordimer than that pompous milquetoast 😂 @windinhishair
