Trump approval rating 39%

Reading SW you would think Trump was the greatest President ever and those here who dare to disagree are treated like a small group of ignorant misfits. But the fact is- we are the majority of the American people!

More people voted for even the much disliked Hilary than for Trump, and Trump has consistently had among the lowest approval ratings of any president ever. It's never been more than low 40s% and is currently just 39%-

So why do you Trumpters act like you represent the will of the American people?

They think they represent the will of "true" Americans. Other people do not count.

@helenS I don’t think that’s fair. And even if it is, the attitude of many Democrats is equally objectionable.
Fernie · F
@MartinII example of objectionable attitudes of Dems please?
MartinII · 70-79, M
Trump is routinely dismissed as a charlatan, incompetent, etc, etc, rarely argued with or against in a civilised and objective way. That’s not to say that these judgments are necessarily wrong, just that the language and quality of argument is so dismissive and arrogant. @Fernie

@MartinII "I don’t think that’s fair.
— Yes you are right. I should stay away from Trump/Anti-Trump discussions.
@MartinII Trump is regularly dismissive and arrogant. Reread some of his tweets if you’re in doubt. Recently he got up and left the room when some in Congress tried to have a civil discussion with him simply because they were not agreeing with him.
Fernie · F
@MartinII he IS a charlatan,a lying, evil incompetent psychopath...he's made that crystal clear all by himself...what is your point?
MartinII · 70-79, M
@Fernie My point is exactly what I said in my comment. Have a read of it! The point is, of course, confirmed by your own comment!
@MartinII Why does he deserve respect when he’s disrespectful and disgraces his office on a regular basis ? He called a Congresswoman an “ugly pig” when she disagreed with him. Does that sound like presidential behavior to you ?
Fernie · F
@MartinII I just had this exact same conversation with another braindead individual..trump is a mutant and deserves ZERO respect...he brings hatred into people's hearts... something is eating away at your brains if you think he deserves respect on any level. If I was standing in front of that demon I would spit in his evil face. I have never felt this level of hatred in my long life....he is poison and so is anyone who defends him or respects him. I'm done with you now. Not gonna read any of your insane comments anymore....gives me anxiety

@bijouxbroussard Of course it isn’t presidential behaviour. That’s my point, or part of it. Many Democrats, and left-wing opponents around the world, focus on the President’s behaviour and character defects (to put it mildly!) rather than his policies, and do so in language that mirrors his own. In doing so they allow themselves to be dragged down to his level. And apart from anything else, I think that’s tactically unwise. I assume that, as an opponent of Trump, your main political priority is to get a Democrat elected as President in 2020. I’m afraid that many Democrat leaders, spokespeople and supporters seem, at least from this side of the Atlantic, to be going the wrong way about achieving that.
