Chocolate-gate in Canadian Parliament

馃槀馃槀

"Conservative MP Scott Reid accused the prime minister of sneaking a bagel under his desk ... Prime Minister Justin Trudeau rose to admit to breaching the no-food rule, but said the item wasn't a baked good. "It was a chocolate bar. I apologize," he said."

Trudeau has been trampling all kinds of rules and laws lately. Eating in the chamber is strictly forbidden. Pressuring an AG to forgo prosecution of your benefactors is strictly forbidden too. He broke both rules.

@hippyjoe1955 you must be fun at parties

@Salix75 So you think rules don't matter? How about the confidence vote the government lost last night but the speaker ignored? Rules are for others only?

@hippyjoe1955 you're taking this way too seriously. I posted this because of how preposterous it was. We are inundated with Brexit news, Trump's continued antics, continued unrest in the middle East, the massacre in NZ... this was a bit of light-hearted fun, a poke at Cdn politics... like the big issue we're dealing with is a PM sneaking in a chocolate bar... oh no!!! the nation is crumbling!!

Yes it's against the rules, and yes rules apply to everyone. He got busted and fessed up. no biggie.

And I'm not taking this post into the broader spectrum you want to bring it to.
