Conviction compensates for lack of knowledge. Wisdom knows it doesn't know it all. This is especially witnessed on social media. Not sure I completely get the 'full of doubts' part though.
Fools or even ego maniacs constantly spew forth trying to prove themselves, falsely believing they know it all. The truly wise are quiet. They have nothing to prove or the need to prove it. << This I find to be truth.

It's a bit hyperbolic as a statement, but I think the sentiment rings true. I fully agree with your assessment, particularly with regards to social media (including this site). @Magenta

@MildlyInappropriate I agree, the sentiment rings true. And thanks. :-)

There’s a lot of truth in that.

This will make it onto my list of sentences I will cite as the opportunity arises.

If he said that, the man's a fool - that may be a problem, but it absolutely isn't the whole problem.
And when I think of it, isn't it just definitional - a wise person who doesn't doubt isn't wise; a fool who isn't certain might not be a fool at all.

I think he was many things, but I would not mistake him for a fool.
As I said in response to another, perhaps the quote is a bit hyperbolic in spots, but I do think the sentiment rings true. At the very least, it has been my personal experience over the last 50 years that those who have doubts, and adjust their understanding of the world as they gain new information, are far wiser than those who plant their flag in the ground on an issue and refuse to hear any other point of view. @firefall

@MildlyInappropriate I certainly agree with your experience. But that quote still seems foolish to me.

Perhaps I like it because it reinforces my own perspective? I'm open to that possibility! Appreciate your responses. @firefall
