I'm sure some of the far left nuts here are going to take the kids side on this.
The youngster was separated from the senator by a staffer before being led away by police.

A Victoria Police spokesman said officers arrested a 17-year-old boy from Hampton who was released pending further inquiries.

A fundraising page has been set up to buy "more eggs" and to raise funds for lawyers.
In a parallel universe, the right of SW produces loads of posts showing solidarity with victims of violence and polices their own side by calling politicians they vote for to tone down rhetoric against Muslims and immigrants:

Well, we may disagree with people on economic policies and immigration numbers but as liberty loving individualist, we respect the rights of all people so let's have a conversation about how to work together solve these problems. We acknowledge than some of our rhetoric has been heated and not helpful in this regard.

@Burnley123 It seems that the policw are looking into the whole incident. Including the fact that the senator struck the young man (I wont claim he was a child) several times, then he was rather forcibly restrained by three of the senators supporters. (not official bobyguards.) Considering the Senators history, plus the fact that he was not there officially and is way outside of Queensland, his electorate, I suspect he is in rather shaky ground.

@whowasthatmaskedman He looked like a child on the vid. Could be a teenager I guess but half the weight and a foot shorter than that senator.

Does that Senator have history?

@Burnley123 The kid is 17. And its worth noting he comes from an up market area. The Senator has rare form. His maiden speech in the Senate where is represents Queensland (Your nearest copy would be Texas.) Drew condemnation from everyone on all sides when he pulled out the "Final Solution" phrase as an answer to muslim immigration and immigration in general. Since then he has attended Nazi and White power rallies, and been sued for defamation by another senator. He has also spoken in favour of international hate speech types, such as Milo Yiannopoulos, who has just been informed by our govt that he is not welcome here.
The Senator got his seat due to a deal with the party he has since been thrown out of. And is doing anything he can to raise his profile to keep his job in the coming election.

@whowasthatmaskedman I didn't think Quuensland was that right wing though I guess the North of the state must be pretty culturally isolated.
