It's Not Often I'll Defend Lizzy Warren... But In This Case, I Will.

Facebook takes down Elizabeth Warren ads calling for breakup of Facebook

Facebook has removed several ads placed by Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s presidential campaign that called for the breakup of Facebook and other tech giants.

The ads, which had identical images and text, touted Warren's recently announced plan to unwind "anti-competitive" tech mergers, including Facebook’s acquisition of WhatsApp and Instagram.

“Three companies have vast power over our economy and our democracy. Facebook, Amazon, and Google," read the ads, which Warren's campaign had placed Friday. "We all use them. But in their rise to power, they’ve bulldozed competition, used our private information for profit, and tilted the playing field in their favor.”

Facebook should be investigated and grilled before Congressional committees for this.

It's time to treat the tech giants like the television networks once were.

Yeah i agree especially after the Cambridge Analytica debacle.
And that arrogant Zuckerberg sat there in front of politicians and said, effectively, that if people share their personal stuff he demands the right to sell it to whom he likes !

Pissed a lot of us off !

Since regulating these tech behemoths hasn't worked, I agree.

Break 'em up!

@beckyromero Well i think they've been given enough rope. But when these businesses start becoming conglomerates, so they know your personal info. Your buying habits. Your research interests.....i mean you're not far off being excluded from 'insurance' or 'medical insurance' because of your 'lifestyle choices'. And that's just the start of it !
