That's clearly not true. Tons of us are Democrats who hold to the more traditional ideals the party used to stand for. We don't like wackos like AOC and Bernie (technically not a Democrat) redefining the party. It's not like my voting in Mass. has any effect anyway (we *always* go to the democrats) but it would be nice to at least think that there's an organized group that has my back. There isn't now.

@SheikYerbouti Certainly Humphrey's desire to make being a Communist a felony would make him unpopular with so many people who glamorize communism. McGovern was opposed to the Vietnam war and that would be popular today. What makes you think he would be passed by?

@joe438 Well, aside from McGovern's anti war beliefs, I think he'd be too "conservative " today. Humphrey definitely would. JFK too.
