Why Won't Socialists in the U.S. Run on a Socialist Party Ticket?

Why? Because they couldn't win anything if they did, that's why.

So they infest the Democrat Party instead.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) on Saturday called capitalism "irredeemable."

"Capitalism is an ideology of capital — the most important thing is the concentration of capital and to seek and maximize profit," she said during an interview at the South by Southwest conference in Austin, Texas, according to Bloomberg News.
No different than Tea Party radicals infesting the Republican Party. They couldn't win cow dung if they were running under their own banner.

The actual policies exposed by the 'socialists' are no more radical than what American had in the 50s and 60s. + Medicare for all, which is what the rest if the world has. In this sense, FDR was a socialist and so was Lyndon Johnson. Nixon left 'socialism' in place and wanted to implement Universal Basic Income.

What policies which are promoted by these people do you actually disagree with and see as fundamentally bad?

In a two-party system, it's near impossible for minor parties to have success. Incidentally, If OAC and her friends DID run as third-party candidates, then centrist Democrats would be furious and accuse them of splitting the vote to let Republicans in. The electoral system means that you are going to have a range of views under one banner. Clearly, there is a least a large minority of Democratic voters who want 'radical' candidates. So why not let them stand?

@Burnley123 Sadly the word "Socialist" has been dragged through the mud for decades and is now a negative. The Average American wouldnt recognise a Socialist policy if they tripped over one. Thats what happens when you let money own the media, the legislature and the Judiciary. It owns the people.
Sadly, the tea party analogy is pretty good.
