Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's Defunct Book Publishing Company 'Owes $1,870 in Back Taxes'

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez founded a children's book publishing company in 2011

Brook Avenue Press, which has since been dissolved, reportedly owes $1,870.36 in corporate taxes to New York State

Ocasio-Cortez was 22 years old when she started the company through a city-funded incubator in The Bronx

The company was aimed at 'helping develop and identy stories and literature in urban areas' for children, but it doesn't appear to have published a book

"This is the first we’re hearing of it, and we won’t have any additional comment until we look into it," Ocasio-Cortez’s spokesman, Corbin Trent, told the Post on Saturday.

I assume now that's she's making $174,000 she can pony up the back taxes now that it's made the headlines?

You people are REALLY wound up about her! 😊. Why is she viewed as such a threat? Nonwhite and sexy?

@monte3

Castro without a beard.

She sees herself as a revolutionary, not a Congresswoman.

@monte3 She's not a threat at all. I'd say more like comic relief.

I agree. And may develop into something interesting. Bringing up ideas such as the 70% tax rate brings in good discussion.@joe438

@beckyromero I believe that's a perfect summary. If so she's following a thought-out path to change the world. She's not stupid, obviously. Just uninformed and uneducated in things related to her job.
