Old school Socialism is dumb

When there wasn’t a United States, there was never a government by the poeple and for the people.

We have devolved. We need a revision.

Big business and the power people have turned the republic into an oligarchy.

But, is Socialsm the answer? It is not.

Is there a place for socialist principles? Without question.

Anti-monopoly laws are not working. Technology is too fast. We need a way to enable companies like Amazon to be a benefit to all without enabling power people like Bezos to be an overlord.

We have elected a legislature full of the rich and the dumb. We need a new election system that puts more power back into the hands of the people.

For those that have all the answers to these questions....

With all due respect, you’re wrong.

There are no simple answers. It will require work, sacrifice, accountability and empathy.

So, what say you?

I'm gonna suggest that the only people serious about tacking the problems you describe are those who call themselves socialists.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
Bullshit.

There’s a reason that Trump won. He certainly benefited from the electoral college system. However, the reality is that he got nearly the same voter support as Hillary. We voted for a guy who has more experience with bankruptcy than any kind of true leadership.

People want change. Many of the Socialists have their heads in the clouds and don’t understand human nature because many of them never leave their urban havens or their college campuses.

Marx was an idealist who had a fundamental misunderstanding of how society functions.

There are many of us who want change who do not want literal socialism.

We want the US to be actually great again, but not defined by the Cheeto in Chief.

Imagine the good things achieved with a stable likable respected President. The Dems would never win again. @JoeyFoxx

Seriously?

Stop making this a game about flags.

C’mon Jack. Deep down, younare better than this.

Good GDP
Preexisting conditons covered
NATO allies paying more
Troops coming home

All good policies

The architect’s behavior has prevented him from getting well deserved credit.

The architect???

GDP has nothing to do with anything he’s done. It takes 4 years for Presidential action to impact the economy. Evidently, he should be thanking Obama for this?

Thumbs up on keeping NATO accountable. But let’s see what happens if the US ever needs help.

Troops coming home. Good.
Declaring victory without evidence? Feels like dejavu.

@JoeyFoxx Who is suggesting what you describe in your post, apart from the left? I'm not advocating USSR and nobody else is
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
Loudly? No one.

The loud left is to extreme. The loud right is too extreme.

Both are ignorant.

There’s plenty of discussion among folks who are more moderate.

I’m more of a centrist. I’m in the minority. I don’t expect full agreement.

We should all expect compromise.

But we have convinced ourselves, or we have been convinced by those in power that compromise is defeat.

It’s a zero sum game that benefits no one other than the minority in power.

The style of armed conflict occurring since WW2 doesn’t allow for winners and losers except to the extent that if nothing HORRIBLE doesn’t happen then someone has not lost. Most seem to fall into the category of “wars of attrition” which does not seem like something to be drawn into and expect a favorable outcome. @JoeyFoxx
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
I fail to see the relevance of armed conflict in this context. @jackjjackson
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
I would like to think the centrists are the largest plurality and the goal should be to acquire enough support from the extremes to win. @JoeyFoxx

It sucks up time and money. You mentioned too early declarations of “victory” so I attempted to address that. @JoeyFoxx

Jack? He blocks me, but you're absolutely wrong, deep down, or surface level, he is NOT better than this.

@Northwest I've been debating Budwick today. Lol

@Burnley123 I'm sorry :-) He can't even get his different aliases organized.
