So what makes this Trump Wall Emergency different?

Lots of Emergencies have been declared before by different Presidents. I did a little digging and This is the first time ever that a President has used his emergency powers to push through a project that the Congress had refused to fund as far as I can tell. As such, it really does open up a can of worms for the future. But I am sure it serves Trumps purposes now. Just another distraction.

It's not an emergency.

Trump is using this agenda to serve him for re-election purposes.

Nothing more than theatrics for the mindless.

@toodlepip Probably.. But his declaration (when he does it) will be real. The rest is for the courts to determine. Bypassing congress to fund projects they wont seems to me to serve a progressive agenda. Its up to others to decide if that is a good or bad thing.

@toodlepip While I see Trumps election as a symptom of the malaise in US politics. I have the luxury of being able to view it with knowledge of the economics involved and enough distance to see clearly Americas place in the world. He will come and go. The problems will remain.

@JessBalance It could be happening as we speak. But there is money to work with now, without this. I think its about the noise and colour and movement myself.
