If Trump can declare a national emergency and build a wall, what is to stop a Democrat President from declaring a national emergency and confiscating certain guns?

They can try but it will be an unsuccessful attempt. But your point is taken. The fact is, every president since jimmy carter has declared national emergencies and only once did it have anything to do with national security. That was in 2001 after the 9/11 attacks.

@katielass If Hillary was president instead of Trump, it's very possible that she would have attempted to confiscate firearms via the national emergency process.

And with the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer cheering her on, I would think she probably would do that.

@Heartlander It would not surprise me. But like I said, they can try. Doesn't really make sense though. You'd think if there was a real national emergency the government would be passing out guns. We already know that the odumbo admin tried to buy up all the ammo and guns. lol
