If Trump can declare a national emergency and build a wall, what is to stop a Democrat President from declaring a national emergency and confiscating certain guns?

Constitution gives national security as part of the duties of our Federal Government. The argument can be made that securing the border is a part of that.
Constitution enumerates the rights of citizens and includes the 2nd amendment which specifically deals with guns.
The Constitution is the founding document that all laws and acts must not be in conflict with.
That should answer many questions.

@sunrisehawk Security does not mean boarder like gun freedom does not mean snipers. As you maybe noticed, I said confiscating certain guns. Not all. They can make an argument about it protecting human safety and still allowing some guns.

"Security does not mean boarder..." What is security if not controlling who enters our nation? It isn't all by any stretch, but to pretend that borders aren't some part of security?
"...gun freedom does not mean snipers." Snipers are people. They can use any firearm and have. If your going to use the argument that it is about protecting people, then you're going to end up confiscating everything as guns (especially when suicide is removed) are down the list of methods of killing and harming other people.
