Ladies and gentlemen, do you support the government funding "the wall" and actively enforcing immigration laws?

I do not support funding for the wall. For a number of reasons.

I do support immigration laws but, unfortunately, the focus now is on poor people escaping violence and poverty. They don't make up the majority of those trying to get in. What it's about today is creating a "brown" enemy. It serves the Divide and Conquer strategy of a con man. Screw that.

@Ynotisay exactly, that doesn't give them refuge status. Some people don't comprehend this and the burden they are to the taxpayers. They are quick to label you without properly analyzing.
Pherick · 41-45, M
@xRedx It does give them the legal right to come to the US and apply for asylum.

@xRedx Here's what I know for SURE. Many of the people overstaying visas or just working to get 'lost' in the shuffle come here to RIP OFF our government. They often come from countries where lying and stealing is part of the makeup. Russia, Israel, Armenia, Turkey, etc. They get here and game the system out of billions. That poor Mexican dude who either escapes or dies? That man will work his ass off and kiss the American soil because he's so grateful.

@Ynotisay

I have nothing against people coming here to improve their lives but not if it means them breaking the law. There's a correct way to do things. If they do, by all means they're welcomed.
xRedx · M
@Pherick Legal right? No, because they're not refugees. And asylum doesn't mean come over here and abuse the welfare and education system at taxpayers expense. I understand where you're coming from but no, you're wrong.
Pherick · 41-45, M
@xRedx Actually it's not up to you or me to decide that. We have a whole system in place to process refugees and grant or not grant asylum. So no, you are wrong.
xRedx · M
@Pherick It's not up to you as well. It's up to the law, and they're not refugees. Look up what grants refugee status and you'll see you're totally wrong.
Ynotisay · M
@xRedx You do know that undocumented workers / illegal immigrants do NOT receive welfare, right? Come on man. And taxpayers expense? Are you under the impression that undocumented workers don't pay tax? You might want read up on this one a bit.
Pherick · 41-45, M
@xRedx AGain, you don't seem to understand this. If they come to our border and claim refugee status and ask for asylum, they get to go through the process. They may be denied, but they go through it.

Feel free to read up on the process here.

@Pherick Just going by the terminology, they're not refugees. Ask for asylum because their government has failed them? I don't see how that should fall under the taxpayers, wouldn't you agree?
Pherick · 41-45, M
@xRedx From what I understand most refugees coming from South America seem to fall into the last two groups.

- Membership in a particular social group

- Political opinion

Seems like a good reason to flee and find a better life somewhere else, wouldn't you agree?

@Pherick if they are worried about the taxpayers paying for the abused government aid. why dont they go after the US Citizens who abuse them? i see that alot where i am from and also where i have been. and let me tell you immigrants are the least of our worries in that category. lol
