Is there any republican who could successfully defeat Trump in the primary election in 2020?

@sarabee1995 If I remember correctly, he's the only one that wouldn't promise to not run for a different party if he didn't get the republican nomination.

@Pfuzylogic Hmmm, define "survive". We've been a sovereign nation for almost 250 years, but we weren't always a first-world country or a global superpower. Some scholars say we've already lost first-world status, and global superpower may soon fall by the wayside also.

@JP1119 This country is very tenacious and designed to thrive under the philosophy of the elected. I am thankful for our country and still consider it very first rate.

@Pfuzylogic Most industrialized nations have higher life expectancy than we do. Most have much lower rates of poverty. I think all of them have universal healthcare, and on average they get better results for much lower costs than we do. You and I may be doing okay, but the USA has plenty of people these days that aren't.

If one wanted to trace it back I would say around Nixon we had challenges with the executive branch.
We have survived worse.

@sarabee1995 I don’t think his past matters much today. Republicans in both Houses treats him as a Republican and he opposes the Dems... you know the cliché about the duck, right?

I thought when Reagan became elected we would see no lower plateau but then came W. This one might end up on trial but as we see now the Republican Senators are raising their head against the Syrian decision. We shall arise!

@Pfuzylogic I've noticed a work wide trend against most governed over the last year or two...I think it's guy to the point where people are no longer thing to sit back and take governing for friends as an answer

In the US we have processes for justice and governing. We might suffer but our Country’s Constitution will reign supreme!

We have three branches for balance.
The Congress legislates and the Court’s interpret.
