I honestly don't know if she is dead or not but in everyone's life there comes a time to hang them up and let fresh blood take your place. I believe this is the time in Ruth's life. She has very serious health issues and is very very unlikely to return to full health. Time to shuffle off the stage before that big hook takes her.

@hippyjoe1955 Her decision. Not yours.

@windinhishair No the point is that if health is keeping you from doing your job but you stubbornly hold on you are incompetent and should be removed.

@hippyjoe1955 What part of lifetime appointment is so difficult to grasp. She makes that decision, not you. She's only been out a short time and is working from home.

@windinhishair actually if found incopetant a justice can be forced to step down

@Mountainlady16 The word is "incompetent" but there is no hint of that whatsoever.

@windinhishair What part of doing the job do you not understand? I had an aunt that lived 3 years in a coma. Fortunately she was not a justice on the supreme court with a 'lifetime' appointment. In all honesty I wonder how long it would take for you to call for the removal of a conservative judge if (s)he was incapacitated for health reasons.

@Mountainlady16 She's recovering from surgery, so duh.
