@Stargate It's true, he just threatened to. That's been enough to keep the House from voting on a bill that passed the Senate unanimously in December, and for Senate to stonewall and further voting this year - though thankfully that period seems to be over.

But more importantly, "it's not his shutdown until he vetoes" is just moving the goalposts unnecessarily. Trump himself said this was his shutdown, so why all the gymnastics?

@Stargate There is no official definition of what makes something someone's shutdown (for example, you probably see the '13 one as Obama's shutdown) - there is nothing to report.

In this case, we have Trump more or less loudly proclaiming that it's his shutdown. So it is.
