The parties switched constituents and platforms in the course of early-mid 20th. The democrats used to be the party of states’ rights, small government, and racism. Then things flipped around.

Yes, I tried to imply the party transformations in my last post but PinkEye would have none of it. To him it is a binary issue. All Dems bad; all Reps good. The complexity of history, never mind the complexity of human beings or their contrariness, appears not to have percolated into his consciousness.
